Diane Lynn Barrenechea, went home to be with the Lord on April 10, 2021 surrounded by family (two at a time), after a significant brain bleed following complications from surgery. She was 59 years old.
She left behind family, friends, dogs, a cat, and things that we will be finding for years to come because she was the queen of hiding things and forgetting where she hid them.
Diane was born in Terre Haute, Indiana to Carol and Paul Kennedy. She married Ivan Barrenechea in September 1990. She had a son Joshua Higar from a previous marriage, twin daughters from her current marriage, her only grandson JD, and two fur grandbabies Oli and Luna.
Diane graduated from West Vigo High School. She was a competitive basketball player, a beautiful dancer, and an amazing singer. After graduation, she went to beauty academy. Throughout her career she managed 3 salons. She moved to Miami, Florida with her mom and stepdad, and met her husband Ivan in Miami.
Diane was the most loving Mom and lived for her children and grandchild. She was saved for many years and loved Jesus. There was not a night that went by where she didn’t pray for her family and friends. She had the sweetest and kindest soul, the brightest light, and the loudest laugh in the room. She made friends in seconds after meeting them for the first time and always made you feel loved.
She will be missed and survived by her husband Ivan Barrenechea, children: Joshua Higar and wife Jeannette Higar, Michelle Barrenechea and significant other Sid Hand, Raquel Cogswell and husband Tyler Cogswell, grandson JD Higar and step grandchildren: Benji, Bella, and Mia, mother Carol Honeycutt and stepdad John Honeycutt, sister Karla Mitchell and husband Larry Mitchell.
She was preceded in death by her loving dad Paul Kennedy.
Her memorial service will be held at Bible Baptist Church – 7 SW 129th Ave. Pembroke Pines, FL 33027 on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at 4:00PM.
For those who cannot attend the Service, the family is providing a live video stream of the service for family and friends to attend virtually

In loving memory of my cousin, Diane. We grew up together camping, horseback riding and mushroom hunting… May she rest in peace.
