Aston Roman Baghalou was born in Spanish Town in the parish of St. Catherine, Jamaica on August 28, 1955; to parents John Baghaloo and Lucille Anderson. 

Aston grew up in Winter’s Pen with his parents and siblings, he was the second of nine children. 

His education began at Friendship Primary School where he furthered his studies at Dinthill Technical High School. After high school, he learned a trade in Jamaica to become a Machinist and later gained employment in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba in 1974.  He worked for the United States Naval base for a total of 16 years. 

He has received several outstanding awards from his company, which includes multiple Employee of the month, Employee of the quarter, and Employee of the year. 

After 16 years of service with the U.S. Naval base, then he migrated to the United States.

Aston gained employment at Florida Marine Propulsion Corp, and worked there as a machinist for 28 years during which time he married his long time girlfriend Candi Fisher. After a few short years they dissolved their marriage. 

Aston lived a fulfilled and well-rounded life, he loved to travel and meet new people. He had travelled to many countries including England, Canada, and parts of the caribbean. His favorite place to visit was of course the country of his birth “Jamaica”. He was a lover of racehorses and even owned a horse named “El Simon” that won its first big race on June 13th, 2010 at Calder Casino & Race Course. 

On one of his trips to Jamaica, he met his wife Tracey Ann and they recently celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary. For the last three years, Aston worked at Frank and Jimmie’s Propeller Shop in Miami right before he retired in April of 2021. He became ill and within two ,and half weeks he passed away at Pembroke Memorial Hospital.

He was well loved and respected by his family and friends. His favorite place was hanging at the bar with his friends, always making sure everyone was drinking and having a good time. He enjoyed cooking, hosting parties, playing dominoes, singing, dancing, and listening to reggae music.  

He will fondly be remembered by his widow: Tracey Ann; Son: Dane; Stepsons: Jerome and Javawn; 4 grandchildren: Janelle, Janae, Jayden, and Jamani; Surviving siblings: Maxine, Patsy, Maureen, and John; nieces, and nephews, and host of other relatives and friends.

A sincere thank you to everyone who is here today to pay tribute to Aston Roman Baghalou.

 

A Public Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2021 from 1:00 PM-3:00 PM at Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care, 1600 N. University Drive, Pembroke Pines, Florida 33024.

Please note modifications are in place regarding Visitation and Services due to the Coronavirus. Boyd-Panciera is following all local and state guidelines and is taking all the necessary precautions to ensure the safety and health of our families and staff to halt the spread of COVID-19.  Social Distancing and Face Masks are in effect.
