Marlene Deyanira Fontaine

February 18, 1957~June 12, 2021
Our beloved Marlene Deyanira Fontaine – wife, mother, sister, auntie, cousin, grandmother – age 64, passed away on June 12, 2021.
Marlene was born in 1957 in Bogota, Colombia, South America. She moved to New York with her family at the age of 4 where they resided for 15 years.  In 1975, he met her soulmate and husband Serge.  In 1982, they married and eventually had 3 children and began their family’s journey in Trenton, NJ.  They bought their first home in Dayton, NJ  in 1985.  Then, shortly thereafter in 1989, they bought a home in Bensalem, PA.  They spent many happy  years raising the kids and building happy memories there in Pennsylvania. Then in 2003, they decided to move to Pembroke Pines, Florida where the family has resided ever since.
Marlene was a loving, devoted matriarch to her family –  A genuine, compassionate, and fun-loving person with a heart of gold. Marlene was very charismatic and QUITE the character – a funny lady who enjoyed giving people a hard time – she loved playing pranks on people! Sassy, strong, stubborn as heck – even though she had such an intense personality, you would always leave feeling strong and empowered as she was the most honest, trustworthy, nurturing, non-judgmental person you could ever meet. A genuine confidant and shoulder to cry on, her passing has left a huge void in our lives and in our hearts.
Marlene is survived by her loving husband of 45 years Serge, her sons Ricardo, Alfonso, and Fernando,  her grand-daugher Katalina, and her dog-daughters Coco and Luna. Marlene’s extended family including her sister Pilar, and her many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and their spouses and children.
A memorial service and gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, June 19 th, 2021 at 11:30am EST at Boyd Panciera Family Funeral Care, 1600 N. University Drive, Pembroke Pines, FL 33024.
Marlene’s wish prior to her passing was absolutely NO flowers to be sent; instead, please make a donation in Marlene’s name to St. Jude’s cancer research –
