Ann Therese Karva, beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed on September 24, 2021, and is now in heaven with her beloved parents, family and friends who preceded her there.
Ann was born in Chicago, Illinois. She studied at Loretta Academy, and lived in Chicago until moving with her parents, Agnes Irene Ford and William Ford to south Florida in the early 1950s. While still residing in Chicago, she met her lifelong friend, Arlyne Marks, who, together, had a wonderful 82-year friendship until Ann’s passing.
Ann was formerly married to Watson Joseph LeBlanc, and they had four sons: Marc Alan LeBlanc, Daniel Joseph LeBlanc, Glenn Anthony LeBlanc and Paul Andre LeBlanc, and they lived in Biscayne Gardens, Florida. Ann’s marriage was later annulled and she raised her four sons as a single mother, with loving help from her mother, Agnes. While raising her sons, she attended, and happily took part in, many rock and roll concerts they held throughout Florida. She loved to be a part of the music scene and attended church services while her sons were members of the Youth Folk Group, participating in the Mass liturgy and at secular music performances. Ann even stepped-in for one of her sick sons on live-television to sing with the other Folk Group members for one of the weekly shut-in Masses broadcast for the elderly and ill.
Ann married Thomas Anton Karva in 1985 at Saint James Catholic Church, in North Miami, Florida, and they lived in Biscayne Gardens, Florida until moving to Plantation, Florida. Thomas passed in 2019, and Ann continued to live in Plantation until her recent passing.
Ann worked as a secretary and administrator for over 50 years, first working at Ace-Saxon/Mar- Tab Vending in Miami, then at Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida, where she was Administrative Assistant to the Dean of Administration.
Ann and Thomas loved having family parties at their Biscayne Gardens and Plantation, Florida homes, where they held large family functions over the years, such as for Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter, and also numerous birthday parties. They both loved to travel, and visited family and friends for many years until no longer being able to safely drive such long distances. Ann was a parishioner of Saint Gregory the Great Catholic Church in Plantation, Florida for many years, and shared her lovely voice during Mass.
Ann was a bright light too all who knew and loved her. She had a wonderful sense of humor and her infectious laugh brought a smile to everyone who was around her to enjoy the sound of it. She will be greatly missed by all, but will never be forgotten.
Survivors of Ann include: her sister, Patricia Butler; her four sons, Marc Alan, Daniel Joseph, Glenn Anthony and Paul Andre LeBlanc; her 14 grandchildren, Christopher, Sean, Brian, Hilary, Jefrey, Eric, Victor, Adam, Abbey, Guy, Lauren, Benjamin, Gabriel and Sierra; her 7 great-grandchildren, Connor, Tyler, Ava, Tsubaki, Haku, Andrew and Archie; her niece, Cynthia DuQuette and nephew, Patrick Butler, and their children, Robert and Ashley; her loving daughters-in-law, Terry, Peggy and Debra LeBlanc; her stepsons, Thomas, Jr., and James; and, finally all those who knew and loved her as friends, co-workers and neighbors.

Karva”, using either of the following methods: by email to: www.ccadm.org, or by U.S. mail to: CCADM, 7707 NW 2nd Avenue, Miami, FL 33150.

Ann was like a ray of sunshine…always so happy and full of life.
We met her when she moved into our Plantation community and she became our cheerful little backyard neighbor.
She liked to chat about her family’s doings. She was so proud of her boys and all they’ve achieved.
Both my hubby and I will miss seeing her tiny little self crossing through the grass to come for a chat.
Love you, Ann…miss you already.

Mom,
Your love for us always showed the minute you saw us by your beautiful smile, kisses and loving hugs. I will miss our chats with all the memories, pictures and laughter we had too. I know you are in Heaven with Grandma-(Snacks), Tom and all your departed family and friends looking down on us and enjoying eternal happiness and peace.
It is with sadness that I write this but also joy because of your love, care, guidance and discipline as a Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother that affected not only me but everyone who met you and felt that love. You are greatly missed and loved by many.
I will always love you deeply in my heart and hopefully one day be with you again. Love, Daniel
