Our beloved mother, Maria, passed away on Friday. She died peacefully at home surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Mom was a wonderful mother, grand-mother, great-grandmother, teacher, and friend.
She was beloved by many, including her children, grandchildren, and students. An educator all her life, who earned her Doctorate in Education, she was a lifelong teacher, not only of language and music, but of values, honesty, hard work and integrity.
She was kind and compassionate. Her desire to help and extend love to those in need was the essence of who she was, from when she was a child until her death.
If she was your friend, you had a champion for life, looking out for you, especially when you were suffering or in need.
She is survived by her children: Jorge Lazcano, Jr, Diana Santa Maria, and her husband, Brian K. Sidella, Carlos B. Santa Maria and Oscar B. Santa Maria, Jr.; grandchildren: Nickolas A. Sidella, Alexander C. Sidella, Sierra Dawn Santa Maria, Shannon Mae Santa Maria, Amber Nicole Santa Maria, and her husband, William Gonzalez, Skyler Santa Maria and Ryan Santa Maria and great-grandson, Gotham Gonzalez.
Rest in Peace dearest mother. You deserve to be in the peace and glory of our Father in Heaven, with your beloved parents, your precious baby Patricia, your Tatica who you never forgot, with the other members of our family and dear friends who have passed on.
While your body has died you will always live in our hearts and in the hearts of all who loved you.
We love you Mom, today and always.

Maria Zimmermann was a loving and generous lady. She was my first Spanish teacher at Little Flower. She worked with my Mother and was one of her very best friends. She was like a second mother to me and a second grandmother to my son.her family was family to me. Her children were brothers and sister to me. I will miss her but never forget her. My prayers go out to the family. I love you all.

My abuela was the prime example of a person who goes above and beyond for you. She always thought about others, said prayers for everyone, and always looked for a way to help those in need. She was indeed loved by all who had the opportunity to know her and be loved by her.
She was my favorite person on earth and it was a dream to have someone as perfect as her over these years. I am glad to have such an amazing woman as my forever guardian angel.

Mrs. Santa Maria was my Spanish teacher at Little Flower. My memories of her as a teacher and mother to Diana was of kindness and a loving heart. As a teacher, she was patient, understanding and kind. As a mother of a dear friend, she was always so sweet and always had a smile on her face. My heart and prayers go out to her family at this time for such a great loss in their lives. God bless and bring you peace.

Maria Zimmerman was a wonderful lady, loving caring and kind. I was very lucky to have a few caring teachers that made such a huge impact on my time at LFS. She was just that. I still remember her to this day, she always made me smile. I know she is with god. Heaven gained an Angel. You will be missed. ❤️Prayers to the family as I know how these times can be

Mrs. Zimmerman was my beloved Spanish teacher and my piano teacher too. Her beauty and grace was undeniable. She was fierce and compassionate. I will fondly remember my brother Scott and I going to her home for our piano lessons. She remained focused on us all the while screaming at Carlos and Oscar to settle down as they were always running around the house. I wanted to play piano like Elton John but clearly lacked the talent. She didn’t give up on me. My small hands could barely stretch an octave and she pushed to keep trying. Til this day my pinky finger on both hands juts out from my hand to form a V. Every time I notice this or see my hands in a photo it makes me giggle and I will forever have her in my heart and memory.
God bless Mrs. Zimmerman and her family.
Love, Aimee Alderson

My dear sweet mother, today we laid you to rest. These past two weeks since you took your final breath have been a blur. Your service was beautiful just the way you would have wanted. I will miss you every day for the rest of my life. It is difficult to process that I will never see you again in my lifetime. My only solace is that when I close my eyes for the final time, that you are front and center to greet me at the gates of heaven. You were a wonderful daughter, mother, grandmother and teacher. You impacted the lives of more people than you could ever have imagined. I know you are having a grand time with your family and friends who have predeceased you, while at tbe same time missing your family you left behind. Don’t worry about us. Although your passing has left a gaping hole in all of our lives, rest assured we will all be together again. In the meantime don’t worry about us and enjoy the eternal peace that you so richly deserved. I will miss you every day of my life as will all your children, grandchildren and the many people you impacted during your lifetime. I will love you forever.
P.S. To all those who have left a tribute to my mother on this page, I thank you. Your words and fond memories have brought us comfort. Thank you all!!!

Mrs. Zimmermann was a beautiful person in so many ways! She (along with Louise Joseph) was my Kindergarten teacher at Little Flower 1969 – 1970. Several years later, I took piano lessons from her. She tried her hardest, but I just did not have that talent.
As a young widow, she raised her four children to be upstanding, loving people as she was. I know that she touched thousands of young lives; and this community is a far better place because she was a vital part of it!
Soar with the angels, Maria! You have earned it!
