My Dad lived a wonderful life.   He didn’t travel to far away lands but he sure knew how to get to the Century Village clubhouse to dance, play billiards, work out and drive to St Max to attend Sunday mass.   Dad lived a simple life but loved people and put a smile on a lot of people’s faces.  I would often drive by his home in Century Village Garfield A and see him sitting on the bench talking with people.  He loved people. My Dad wasn’t perfect, but after my mom passed in 2007, he took time to reflect on their relationship and I believe he became a better man for it. More caring, more engaged, more loving.  I will never forget our time together playing pool, going to lunch at Olive Garden with my wife, Linda, or the family or to Polo Tropical after playing a few games of pool for a Tropichop.  He loved good food at a good price.  When he went to Olive Garden he wouldn’t stop eating until he had at least 3 bowls of minestrone soup. 🙂
Dad had a stroke in July of 2020 and never got back on his feet.   His last year had been hard but I saw in him display strength that I will always admire.   When his health deteriorated and he had to be admitted to the hospital he always trusted me when it was time for the nurse to take blood or when they had to do some type of procedure.    During the final months, he didn’t talk much but I’ll always remember his words to me, when I came into his room, “I love you Bobby”.    Those words will be forever etched into my soul and believe he’s now in heaven, with no more pain, dancing with my mom.   We all love you Dad!

A person who always had a smile for me. A husband, dad, grandpa & a friend to many. Loved his family & loved our Lord. This awesome peaceful soul will always be remembered by those who were touched by his presence. Many walk through life never impacting others lives but Robert Negron Sr. left a footprint of what it truly means to love one another. He has finally arrived to his resting place with Jesus Christ & one day our souls will enjoy the fact that we have finally arrived.

Linda Negron: Daughter in law

After falling in love, courting and marrying Robert Negron’s oldest son “Bobby” It was a wonder for me to be right in the middle of this colorful and welcoming family!! Dad was very cordial to me but it took him a decade to truly warm up to a girl calling him Dad after raising three boys!! When he finally embraced me…I was in Heaven!!

Dad was a simple man who enjoyed his family and the simple pleasures of life! He always thought of all of us and made sure to check in and share restaurant time with us as well as family dinners at our house!! He loved his coffee after dinner and a game of Dominoes or cards!

Our excursions to Barnes and Noble taught me that he had a secret obsession over sharp, new cars which he would dream about while browsing car magazines….but browsing was enough for this sweet, simple man and I could relate to that, as I poured over my own choice of design magazines!! 😊

Robert Negron senior will be greatly missed and forever thought of…In the final chapter of his life, we felt very close to each other and would often hold hands while walking and have a giggle with each other as his sense of humor increased…I called him “dad” and he called me “Lindy”…and we shared our common denominator, Bobby, with huge hearts of love!

Rest in peace now dad…you ran the race towards Jesus and with Him you will remain everlasting…
