I lost my beloved mother on Monday. Her beautiful heart just couldn’t continue. While my grief is deep, I am grateful to have had such an amazing woman for a mom.
She had a brilliant mind, ending her career as a trial lawyer and winning the biggest case ever for her employer. She loved horses and was a competitive jumper when she was younger. She became pregnant with me unexpectedly and unwed, and made the hard decision to keep her baby. Because of her weak heart she never had more children.
Mom left a legacy of two loving grandsons and four adorable great grandsons. In all my crazy years of rebellion and rock-and-roll, she never once judged me and she was the best listener I know. She was not very demonstrative, but I always knew she loved me like a rock.
I have a hole the size of Jupiter in my heart, but I loved her as big as the universe.

We were so sorry to hear about Carol. Carol and Jack were our next-door neighbors in Biscayne Park for years. We have such such dear memories of times with Carol and Jack, and Kim and Bill, who lived across the street. Carol and Jack were the best neighbors, looking out for our kids and giving us advice, which we always realized was correct and we needed to hear. We had our own little paradise there with great neighbors. Carol never ceased to amaze me with her wisdom and dry wit. Her love and dedication to her family were inspirations to me as a young mother. Our thoughts are with all her family. May she live on forever in your hearts. (Her shirt in the photo is just priceless!)

Carol and I tackled law school together. Not many women and only a few crones like us chose the law path back then. We became life long close friends. She was a rock in a storm, always setting a guiding light. I may not be able to pick up the phone and call her, but she will always be in my heart and head with me!

I met Carol 19 years ago. A friend of mine introduced us and we played bridge at Fort Lauderdale. Ever since then we became strong friends. We played bridge at many locations including tournaments where she helped me accumulate points for my Life Master. Later on we played as partners and, at times, opponents.
Not only was she a great bridge player, but she had the diplomatic skills to play the game. She earned the respect of her partners and opponents.
We spoke almost every day about everything under the sun. I gained much from her wisdom which was based on her life experiences . I will miss those conversations and Carol. My true Friend.

I loved Carol very much. She touched my heart when I was a young woman and she was an RN and later went on to become a lawyer. Her experiences showed how caring of people and intelligent she was. Carol was one of the best mother’s I knew. She touched me in her own unique way.. May she Rest In Peace. My condolences to Kim and family. Love Gerry

Carol was my stepmother, married to my father Jack. I couldn’t have asked for a better stepparent. She said to me when they married,” I won’t try to act like your mother, or try to take her place. But I’d like to be your friend.” What a perfect thing to say to a young girl, worried about her dad’s new wife.
She was an amazing person, always kind, loving and helpful. I will miss her greatly, and carry her in my heart forever.

Carol was my stepmom, I’ve known her since I was six years old Carol married my father , my father wasn’t much of a father so my stepmom stepped up and made me feel the little boy I should. She gave me my first book to read on the beach, Jonathan Livingston Seagull and made me a shirt and shorts from a pattern on a sewing machine, she was there for me and my family with good advice and even bailed me out of jail when I got arrested, with her smarts all my charges were dismissed.I was lucky enough to take her and Max to Hawaii when I was a flight attendant for free an experience I will never forget. I also have the last four years of political grief to remember with my stepmom Carol as we were on opposite ends on Trump.I will never forget her voice as when she knew it was me calling she would answer the phone in a particular way that made me feel sketchy but it was her and her way and I will miss her. I loved her greatly

I was so sorry to hear about your mom. I worked for Carol at Magill Reid, Kuvin and Lewis, and later Thornton, Herndon & Mastrucci, in the 1980s. Carol was a very kind person, a talented attorney and also a very skilled nurse who gave us advice if we weren’t feeling well: whether to see a doctor or apply home treatment. We lived near each other in Biscayne Park and she would often give me a ride home from downtown.
