JANET MARIE  BACKS

July 14, 1938~August 9, 2022

Janet Backs, 84, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 9, 2022.  She was born July 14,1938 in Ohio.   Janet grew up in Dayton, Ohio with her parents, Myrtle and David Cotterman and siblings.  She graduated from Keiser High School.  In 1961 Janet married the love of her life, Andy Backs and they raised four children in Hollywood, Florida.

Janet survived by her daughter; Andrea (Son-in-law Mike) , son Stephen and son Bill; Grandchildren, Alan, Gabby, Michael, Ethan, and Brya; siblings Laura Reames (Charles), David Cotterman, Jr (Donna).   She was preceded in death by her husband Andrew Backs, daughter-in-law Darsy (Stephen), son Terry, parents Myrtle and David Cotterman, her sister Nina Anderson (Bob).

Janet Backs lived her life full of compassion, giving and love.  She continuously gave back to the community as a member of the Nativity Parish, volunteer at the YMCA, and many other organizations.  Janet was a devoted wife, loving mother and doting grandmother.  She lived her life for her family and faith.

The Memorial Mass honoring Janet Backs will be held at Nativity Catholic Church on Saturday, September 3, 2022 at 12:00 pm and can be viewed via livestream at https;//nativityhollywwood.org/live/

A Celebration of her life will follow.
