We chose the words to describe our father deliberately with the hope that we can do him justice and capture the essence of this incredible wonderful man who influenced and impacted our lives.
Louis known lovingly as ‘Young Boy Lou’, was born on June 16, 1924, in Honduras and migrated to Belize when he was four years old, raised by his aunt and uncle. He worked as a young man at Harley’s and then at Frankie Quan’s Grocery where he traveled around his beloved Belize as a salesman. He also worked for and retired from Belize Sugar Industries before migrating to the United States when he was in his early 50’s. He was a true patriot of Belize and enjoyed being a part of the Belize Independence political discourses. Louis believed in and educated his children to the best of his ability and enjoyed the fruits of his labor all the days of his life! He was a walking historian and told stories even most Belizeans didn’t know. Louis believed in physical fitness! He rode his bike and walked until he was 97 years young. He embraced technology and used his iPad to communicate with his family and friends as well as entertainment on social media. Louis was our rock! We will miss him and lovingly hold him in our memories for the rest of our lives.
Louis was reunited with our Lord Jesus on Sunday, September 18, 2022. Of three children, he was the oldest child of Reginald and Florine Ferrel Longsworth.
Louis is survived by his children: Jennifer Longsworth (spouse Hank Lewis), Louis Longsworth (spouse Victoria Longsworth), Catherine Longsworth, Josephine Vernon (spouse Marlon Vernon), and Lane Longsworth (spouse Marlo Longsworth); his beloved friend, caregiver, and adopted daughter Lynn Lalloo; his grandchildren: Robin Longsworth Pegram, Andrea Longsworth, Erinique Longsworth, Terence and Kristin Jones, Ebony Jones, Ryan Vernon, Eryn Vernon, Patrick Vernon, Arthur Robinson, Stephone Robinson, Lily Longsworth, Xavier Longsworth, Caitlin Lalloo and Addison Brookins; his great granddaughters: Makayla Pegram; Sophia and Sarah Robinson; his nieces and nephews: Layola Longsworth, Glen and Eloica Smith; Irena Smith-Pinkett; Victor, Gayonne and Gregory Vernon; Celene Cleland-Gomez, Nicoli Cleland-Gil and Deri Cleland-Happ; Dennis, Richard, David, Nelita, Maureen and Lisa Godfrey; Eugene, Keith, Bruce and James Cleland.
Visitation will take place on Friday, September 23, 2022, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM with Tributes of a Lifetime Service at 12:00 PM at Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care, University Drive Chapel. Interment will follow at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Cemetery. Repast will be immediately after at 616 Woodgate Circle, Sunrise, FL 33326.

Mr. Lou. My second Dad! He was a solid rock in my life since I met him in 1980 when I started dating Josie. I always enjoyed his company, his wit and his love for life!! He lived for his family and everyone loved him and his stories. Our friends became his friends who also became his family. I will miss our stories and history lessons together on the back patio at 616 playing his favorite tunes. He never judged me and always treated my as a son! I will remember my Dad, Mr. Lou!
