He is now reunited with his daughter Zoe Rodriguez, and will continue to be our guardian angel as he was during his life.

Doctor Gonzalez was born in Vueltus, Las Villas, Cuba, on the 11th of May 1933, to parents Juan and Celia Gonzalez.  He was 1 of 8 siblings, one brother Remigio, and 6 sisters, Ramona, Marta, Mercedes,  Ada, Ida, and Nelba.

He graduated with a bachelor’s degree at Antolin Del Valle in Santa Clara Cuba.  He continued on to the University of Havana to study medicine and graduated in 1962.  Doctor Gonzalez practice medicine with the specialty of obstetrics and gynecology.

At the age of 39 he left Cuba with his wife Felina, 32, and two children, son, Humberto 8, and daughter, Zoe, 6, thanks to the Caro families support. They went to Spain where the Rodriguez family opened their home and hearts.

On January 14th 1973, Doctor Gonzalez arrived with his wife and children to Miami, Florida, for the dream of a new life and better opportunity for him and his family. He continued to pursue his purpose and profession of medicine and achieved his medical license in the United States.

In 1976, his youngest daughter Lindsay was born and by 1977, Doctor Gonzalez and family moved to Colonial Heights Virginia.  He continued to practice his profession at Fort Lee Army Hospital in Fort Lee, Virginia. Doctor Gonzalez was well known within the community as a doctor with a warm bedside manner, knowledgeable, while respected and praised by his staff, but most importantly he always put patient 1st.

For 20 years he served our soldiers and their families before retiring. In 1997, after the death of his daughter Zoe, he, his wife, and youngest daughter moved to South Florida, Pembroke Pines to be closer to family. He continued to practice medicine throughout Broward and Dade County, until he was 79 years old.

His 1st grandson, Calvin was born in 1999 and played a large role in his life. His 2nd grandson, Elliott was born in 2014.

Francisco was a patient, loving and caring family man. His number one priority in life was ensuring his family friends and staff did not need for anything. He was a problem solver, expressive of his heart and soul. His joy was knowing his family was loved and taking care of.
