Combiz (Kommie) Shafa, 73, passed away peacefully at home on December 14, 2022, with his wife by his side.  He was born in Tehran, Iran to Frances and Nezam Shafa and moved to the United States when he was 11 years old.  

Kommie is survived by his loving wife Carolyn (Davis) Shafa, his daughter Tara Shafa, his son Kaleb Shafa, his step son Jason Tripp, as well as his granddaughters, Kaylie, Reagan and Peytan Tripp, along with his Uncle Jay, Aunt Sib Shafa and many cousins.

Kommie was a wonderful spouse, friend, and father, unsparing in his support, generous, loyal through the decades, positive and optimistic in the face of unrelenting medical adversity, Kommie was, in many ways, very much a role model, whose passing leaves a large hole for those who were close to him. He will be missed by dearly.

Kommie’s Shabbat Service will be held on Saturday, February 18th at 11 am at Temple Beth Emet, Cooper City, FL.  A memorial donation may be made to the American Cancer Society in Memory of Combiz (Kommie) Shafa at cancer.org or by calling 1-800-227-2345.
