Lois Elane (McLennan) Roopnarine passed from this world on August 10th, 2023. She was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Percy Roopnarine. Lois leaves behind many beloved to mourn her including her daughter Deanne, sons Peter (Carol) and Colin (Rachel), grandchildren Rhiannon, Percy, Zoe and Philip, sisters Vilma and Norma, sister-in-law Enid and many nieces and nephews.
Lois Elane McLennan was born on June 4th 1933 in St. Catherine, Jamaica, the fourth of six children to Winston McLennan (deceased) and Navlet (Solomon) McLennan (deceased). She grew up in Old Harbour and Kingston, and lived for many years with her grandmother, Mary Corella, who she loved very much. Her and Percy were married in 1960. Together over the years they lived in Jamaica, England, Trinidad and Tobago, and Florida. She was an accomplished person who worked with many skills in many roles, but perhaps her greatest loves were her gardens. She was very creative and sharing with her excellent needlecraft, and her kitchen welcomed many.
The lives of her husband and children were made better by her wisdom, and her children and grandchildren will carry that always.
You fought the good fight Mom, you finished the race, and you always kept the faith. Surely the Lord, the righteous judge, will award you the crown of righteousness.
Visitation to be held on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM, with Prayer Service at 11:00 AM at Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care, 1600 N. University Drive, Pembroke Pines, Florida 33024.

Sending our heartfelt condolences to Deanne, Peter, Colin and Grandchildren.
We are very saddened to hear of the loss of Auntie Lois
Although we lived so far apart we have the fondest memories of the times we spent together in England and then later on our visits to America with some of your great nieces and nephew. You were kind & loving, nothing was ever too much. You were special then as you are now in our hearts forevermore.

Dear De, Pete, and Colin- sending peace and prayers to you at this time. A Lois looks beautiful and it was so interesting to read about her early years. As you know, we understand what a difficult time this is. I was so glad to see and spend some time with A Lois last year. Kam, Nim and I send you wishes of peace during this time. All the best,

I have passed the message on to mum, Debbie, Wayne and Bee. I honestly am heartbroken I am unable to come and pay my respects tomorrow I really tried to make it work and fly over. I will never forget my times with Auntie and even more so the times spent with Nan and Auntie they always had their own special bond. As for me, Auntie has me still following the Florida Panthers after all these years and my Panthers jersey still hanging up in my wardrobe. My son Khehon often asks me why I have it and why I check out the score and my story goes right back to my Great Auntie Lois and how she would be fixing the players on the ice by talking to them through the TV. Then speaking to Colin or Peter can’t remember which on the phone about how good or bad they were.
When you told me of how Auntie was adamant on such a quiet low key funeral I wouldn’t have expected anything else it is such a McLennan trait. Tomorrow I will be thinking of you all throughout the day but as 11am reaches your time I will go visit Nans grave and say my few words to my loving Auntie Lois.
Sending my love to you, Peter, Colin and my younger cousins.

Thx so much for sharing this obituary with me. Iâm going to share with my mom & sister and also send to Jenelle.
That is a Beautiful picture of Mrs. Lois. Iâve been staring at it for a while now as I remember so many conversations & interactions weâve had over the years and itâs as if sheâs smiling directly at me & weâre telling each other that we loved one another. Thatâs how we would always end our conversations whether it was at her house, my house, over the phone or in her favorite place, her beautiful garden. And now God has come & picked one of the best & most precious from the bunch to help fertilize & grow His Heavenly Garden.
Thx Dee for allowing me to befriend your Mom unconditionally. Although I have new neighbors ( who I really donât know), Mrs Lois will always be âMy Neighborâ. Every time I walk out to check my mail or just go out that front door, by habit I look over there and see her and just smile bcuz Iâve felt her warm sweet spirit & presence ever since you moved her back to South Florida.
May God strengthen & bless you abundantly for all the love & caring that you gave your Mom ever since we met & even before she took ill.
Again, deepest sympathy & continue to you & your family from me & my family.

Thanks for this Peter. As Ro said it was very interesting to read about Aunty Lois âearly life and her passing made me reflect on the memories I too have of our families nearly all of which were when we lived at Stephens Road. Deanne said she remembered attending my 16 th birthday party which I believe was in Serpentine Road. I hope one day
our families will have the chance to meet again in happier circumstances. Love to you and Colin and Deanne and your families.
