Edward Blanc, known as “Eddie” or “Ti Edgar” to his family, passed away at the age of 69, on November 2nd, 2023, at Memorial Regional Hospital West in Pembroke Pines, Florida. Eddie was born on September 19th, 1954, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, to Ghislaine and Roger Blanc.
His parents, Roger and Ghislane Blanc immigrated to the United States in the early ’60s following the American dream: to start a new life, hoping for a better future. Eddie was the first male born and the second eldest out of nine children (5 boys and 4 girls). Being the oldest, he quickly learned at a young age that if he wanted his own things, he would have to work hard for them.
Throughout his lifetime, he held many positions, including but not limited to being a mechanic, a cook, carpenter, airline employee, painter… The list can go on forever because there wasn’t a job he couldn’t do. There wasn’t a job too big or difficult that he wouldn’t take an opportunity to learn a new trade. He was and always will be the epitome of “a jack of all trades.”
In the early ’80s, he met his soulmate and soon-to-be wife of 37 ½ years, Azilde Blanc, on a night out to the famous CopaCabana in New York City. It was love at first sight, and you know how the saying goes, the rest was history.
Soon thereafter, both Eddie and Tina left New York and became residents of sunny South Florida, becoming married on June 5th, 1985. Now residing in Hollywood, FL, they welcomed their first son Eddie Blanc Jr Nov 20th, 1986, and another 4 years later, Eric Shayan Blanc, on July 29th, 1991.
Eddie was the type of person who looked out for everyone, a big brother to say the least. He was always willing to lend a helping hand at any given moment. He will always be remembered by everyone as a sweet, loving, and generous man. Eddie leaves behind four children Frances, Adam, Eddie Jr and Eric, brothers/sisters, nieces/nephews to live in eternal loving peace with his heavenly wife Tina. Forever, our Angels.
