John A. Reich, 71, of Deerfield Beach, FL, lost his 5-year battle with cancer on Monday, November 27, 2023. Known as “JR” to family and friends, he was born in Buffalo, NY on June 28, 1952, to Arthur J. Reich and Andree “Jeanne” Macy Reich. He made South Florida his home in 1979.
JR was never far from an engine; auto, truck, yacht, or boat. He was always fixing something and was proud of his tool collection. A marine electrician by trade, he also had his captain’s license. It was during his time at sea that he became an avid reader. He was employed at Farmers Market and most recently, Bob Smith Plumbing. JR was a NASCAR enthusiast, Jimmy Buffett fan and liked his scotch at the end day. He wasn’t shy about sharing his opinion; the bolder and louder the better.
He leaves a huge hole in the hearts of his family and friends who were always entertained by his stories, pranks, and adventures. He is survived by his sisters, Donna A. (Mark) Krueger and Lisa A. (John) Wilson; nephews Darrell, Christopher, Mitchell, Andrew, John, Michael; niece Rachael; and many lifelong friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Thomas A. Reich.
A Celebration of Life will be held in 2024. We invite you to donate to Trustbridge Hospice in his honor.
Arrangements entrusted to Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care, University Drive Chapel.

JR is missed. He is one of those unforgettable personalities, such a straight shooter. Peace and comfort to his family.
