Anthony Armao, beloved son of Humbert and Angie (Di Chiara) and dear friend of Claudius Wilson, graced this world with his presence on February 18, 1938. A distinguished graduate of La Salle Academy, Anthony embarked on a remarkable journey that left an indelible mark on the lives of those fortunate enough to know him.
Answering the call of duty, Anthony joined the United States Navy, where he served aboard the USS Tarawa CVS-40 as a dedicated purchasing agent for the flight deck. Upon his honorable discharge, he seamlessly transitioned into the family business, demonstrating exceptional leadership and dedication.
In a testament to his resilience and commitment, Anthony assumed the reins of the family enterprise when his father’s health faltered, ascending to the position of President at Monopearl Inc. Under his visionary leadership, he pioneered the establishment of pearl companies for both Tri-Fari in Haiti and Monopearl in Taiwan, showcasing his entrepreneurial spirit.
A distinguished member of the Manufacturing Jewelers and Silversmiths of America, Anthony was also affiliated with the Renaissance Alliance Lodge of Italy and served as a proud Big Brother in Rhode Island, embodying the values of mentorship and community.
Anthony Armao’s legacy lives on through his nephew, Keith Wilson of Buffalo, New York, and the countless lives he touched throughout his remarkable journey. May his memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew him.
