Sean King Bailey, 67, of Mendham, NJ went to his Heavenly home to meet his Lord and Savior after a lionhearted 17-year
battle with prostate cancer on 12/30/2023. Sean was a loving and loyal father, brother, uncle, cousin, grandfather, and
friend to so many. Sean’s unwavering Christian faith and passion for his family were paramount and he served as a
driving life-force to all who knew him. His intensity, thirst for competition, and boundless optimism were only matched
by his compassion and empathy. He met everyone he encountered with contagious positivity and a warm smile.
Raised in Hicksville, NY on the South Shore of Long Island, Sean excelled as a multiple sport athlete in football,
basketball, and baseball at the varsity level. After receiving a bachelor’s degree from Oneonta State College, Sean began
a successful sales career at Xerox before transitioning to Wall Street. For the first 20 years of his career, Sean held senior
banking and sales positions at Drexal Brunham Lambert, Daiwa Securities, Deutsche Bank and Credit Suisse First Boston –
some of the top investment banks of the era. He, and the team he worked alongside, were responsible for much of the
innovation of the residential mortgage-backed securities and commercial real estate finance markets, transforming the
industry forever.
Most recently, Sean built what became the most cherished business venture of his career, a family-owned and operated
Alternative Investment Banking business led by he and his two sons, Sean Jr and Ryan.
Sean had unrivaled dedication, love, and loyalty to his family. He was the beloved son of the late George and Maureen
Bailey, the devoted husband of 40 years to Barbara Bailey, the loving father to his two sons Sean Jr and Ryan Bailey and
their wives Kara and Jessica Bailey. He was the affectionate “Pop” two treasured grandchildren Quinn and Jimmy Bailey;
and he was a loving brother to George Bailey, the late Kevin Bailey, Lisa O’Neill, and the late Megan Palmer.
A memorial service to celebrate Sean’s impactful life will be held at 1pm on Thursday, 1/11, at Mendham Hills
Community Church, 480 Rte 24, Chester Township, NJ 07930.
In Lieu of flowers, please honor Sean by donating to the Brett T. Bailey Foundation https://btbgives.com/index.html, a
