Carolyn S. Brath Romano, 76, of Davie, Florida, passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2024 – with her Husband, Sister, and Son by her side.

Carol was born in Miami, Florida to William Porter Brath and Irma Adeline Thompson on July 26, 1947. In 1987, she received a BSN in Nursing from New York University – Rory Meyers College of Nursing in New York. On May 9th, 1978, she married Vincent L. Romano. Carol and Vince raised one son, Chad.

Carol dedicated her life to critical care, emergency care, and education. She affected more lives medically, professionally, personally, and educationally, than anyone could ever imagine. Carol was a nurse of nearly 50 years, 30 of which with Memorial Healthcare System (Broward County). She was an entrepreneur; The founder, owner, and President of Rapid Response Medical Training and Romano’s Way – Stressfree PALS, ACLS & CPR both located in Davie, Florida. Carol was an Educator; Helping to train our newest Doctors, Nurses, Paramedics, and EMTs the latest techniques in Emergency and Critical Care Medicine, all over South Florida. After her retirement from MHS & Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital in 2013; Carol went on to help develop, teach, and graduate the first Nursing Class at Emergency Education Training Institute; in Coral Springs, Florida. She will always be known for the compassion and love she had for her family, friends, students, and patients.

Carol in preceded in death by her father, William, and her mother, Irma. She is survived by her Husband, Vincent L. Romano; her Son, Chad V. Romano (Lynn); her granddaughter Arielle Lynn Romano; her sister, Beverly K. Sims of Eustis, Florida, and several nieces and nephews in the Central Florida area.

Carol requested no services for her passing; however, her Vince and Chad will be hosting a Celebration of her life and achievements from 2pm – 5pm on Sunday February 4th, 2024 at The American Legon Post #321 – 9081 SW 51st St, Cooper City, Florida 33328.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like contributions made to the following foundations in her name:

EETI gives $500 scholarships towards Fire, EMT, or Paramedic tuition for students of their programs. Carol’s son Chad is a graduate of EETI in several programs and their continuing education program.

Carol was a very SPECIAL person. My wife and I had many good times with her and Vince.
Our condolences to the Romano family. She will be missed by many.
May she finally test on peace without pain.
