To Judy’s family – she was always just Mom, and for her grandkids? she was Mena, Nana or Grandma. They were the most important people in her life – most important besides Bob. For 62 years he was the love of her life.
They were married when she was 18 and Bob was 20. Bob said recently that he had no idea what he was doing when they got married but never doubted it was right.
Rob was first out of the gate in ’63, Tiff in ’64, and Tracy 5 years later in ’69. They always had each other. Family trips were a great source for good memories to this day. The camper took them west to California and North to DC in ’76. The station wagon took them to visit Aunts, Uncles and Cousins in Tennessee and Virginia.
As the kids grew, so did their involvement in band, drill team, cheerleading and football. The drill team girls called Judy “Moma G”. Whatever Rob, Tiff and Tracy wanted to do, she was there. When Tracy decided to join the UM Marching Band, Bob and Judy became great supports and had season tickets to all the games. Besides UM football, the Dolphin games were a big part of their lives. Never was a grandkid born more loved than Robert and Megan. She carried on her role of supporter and encourager through many a baseball game, Color Guard show, and every event in their lives. At family gatherings the question for her was always “Where are the brownies?”
Cruising was one thing she and Bob loved together and she also finally got her trip to Ireland. That was a long time dream come true. She got to be a kid at heart for just a moment each time she visited Disney World with her family or friends.
In those years, her good friend invited her to the Women’s Club of West Broward and right away her gifts of leadership were put to use. Quickly she emerged as a woman who was “all in” with community involvement. The Dolphin Research Center and South Florida Wildlife Rescue were just a few of her big investments.
The last four years have been hard for all of them to watch. Her decline physically started with an unsuccessful back surgery and ended at noon on Sunday, the 16th of June. Her family was all around her as she slipped quietly into the arms of the Lord. To say she will be missed is an understatement. There is a big hole left for each one of them.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 3rd, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care, University Drive Chapel. A tribute to Judy’s life will begin at 7:00 PM.
For those unable to attend the service, the family is offering LIVE streaming of the Service on Wednesday, July 3rd starting at 7:00 PM. The link to attend the LIVE SERVICE is on the Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care Facebook page at: BOYD-PANCIERA FAMILY FUNERAL CARE LIVESTREAM.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Judy’s memory to the Dolphin Research Center, https://dolphins.org/or South Florida Wildlife Center, https://www.southfloridawildlifecenter.org/

Our thoughts and prayers are with your family. Judy was such a constant source of pride and support for our efforts at Miramar High School, as well as a super band booster. May her memory serve as a forever source of joy to you.
