Roy Allen Ford

September 12, 1936~October 02, 2024

Roy Allen Ford, age 88, of Weston Florida, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on October 2, 2024.
A true Florida native, he was born in Hollywood Florida to the late Kenneth Ford and Evelyn Briner. Proceeded in death by his sister Nancy Johnson.

Roy is survived by his loving wife, Carol, of 65 years, his children: Bob, Lisa (Mike), Christina & son (in law) Sal. He leaves behind his three grandchildren: Salvatore, Isabella, and Caroline, who were the lights of his life. Roy’s surviving siblings are his brother Calvin (Karen) Ford, his sisters: Sharon (Terry) Hughes and Susan Cato and his very dear cousin, Marie Harrington.
During his life, he enjoyed the love and support of the many nieces and nephews, extended family and very dear friends.
Those who knew Roy best, will remember the love he had for his family, his strong hard-working hands, his perseverance through endless hospital visits, his very strong opinions, and signature phrases.
His pride and greatest accomplishment was his family! His happiest times were the years he spent traveling and being close to his 3 grandchildren.
We know that he is (ON THE ROAD AGAIN) and that we shall see him again “good Lord willing and the creek don’t rise”.

Funeral Arrangements are entrusted to Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care, 1600 N University Drive, Pembroke Pines, Florida 33024.

What a beautiful tribute to a wonderful man! Looking at his picture made me feel that he was sitting across the table from me during our Sunday luncheons.
Our sincere condolences to you Carol & your family; he will be missed. It was a pleasure to have known him and we will be left with many happy memories.

Dear uncle Roy ,
I was so afraid of you when you lived on Mount Ave . Even though I was afraid I love you just the same . Through the years you have held a special place in my heart and I still remember all the things you told me . When I found out how sick you were I tried to call just to say that I love you once more time . I always wished I lived down there in Florida so that me and my children could be close to family. . I regret not doing that now .
I’m sorry I didn’t get to say goodbye or hear your voice one more time but I will hold you in my heart forever.
Please give my mom and my girls a big hug and kiss from me .. now I have one more angel in heaven watching over me and mine .
I will see you again some day ,
I love you Uncle Roy ❤️

Roy, my family’s and my prayers are for you that you are at peace with the Lord, Jesus in heaven. You are an amazing man, just like Tom was! I would even think that he was waiting to welcome you into Paradise! I also pray for my very dear friend your wife, Carol and all your family. These days are really hard for those who loved you so much. May you rest in peace, and know that you will see your beloved wife and family once again as you await them in heaven. I always remember the funny story about Roy stopping traffic to cross a bride when Calvin and I got married. Love to you all. Karen

My favorite memory is when we talked on the phone and called each other on our birthdays and how much we loved each other. As Whitney Houston would sing I Will Always Love You Uncle Roy. Love Bizzy

I can to know Roy at the YMCA gym, where after working out we’d have coffee downstairs and talk politics. Since we were both of the same political persuasion we got along famously.. Not only that, we both felt that growing up in the Fifties was the best ever, During those coffee sessions we became fast friends. He was one of my Joker buddies reincarnated. We felt that we could trust each other with our most inner secrets. We became best friends .
Now I can see Roy meeting St. Peter at the ‘Pearly Gates’ and I pray that the universal language of Heaven is English., because If it’s not, St. Peter will be in for some kind of lecture from him. Roy, he’s only his job!
But once inside those gates I know he will find ‘hiss world’ again, filled with classic cars, ten cent beers, and music you could dance to, and Americans who really love their families, friends and country.
Roy, you’re not ‘flat leaver’, God needs more guys like you to help Him straighten out the world you left.

Your buddy,
Ron

I am so sad to hear this news. Mr Ford was a huge part of my childhood and I will always have very fond memories. We feel your loss as our dad passed this year as well. I’m sure they are all cheering us to go on and live every day as they showed us it should be done.
Love your family always.
