Ana Caba was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, on February 17, 1951, to Antonio Caba and Elsa Cabral. Ana was a wonderful sister to her siblings, Rafael Brito, Salvador Cabral, Paula Cabral and Pedro Cabral. In her early years, she attended Juan Bautista Zafra School and later continued her studies as an outstanding student at the Universidad Autonoma de Santo Domingo.
Ana was full of life and had a passion for sports. In 1974 she participated in the first Central American and Caribbean games in the women’s softball league. Sports was just one of her many talents. She was a great cook and loved to read, dance and sing. She was also a pillar in the community. Her caring nature allowed her to embrace the community and open her home to others.
Ana had two daughters- Indhira and Ana. She wanted more for her family and immigrated to the United States with aspirations of creating new opportunities for her daughters and family, which she accomplished. She was no ordinary woman. She was a strong, beautiful woman whose love was so genuine, that everyone around her felt loved. She was full of life, and funny, and was known for her jokes and pranks she played on others. Her humorous side was contagious! She was the life of the party wherever she went! Her family and friends can testify to the smile she brought to their faces and lives.
On January 17, 2001, an unfortunate event occurred. Ana suffered a stroke, which caused extreme damage and changed her lifestyle immensely. It caused her deep pain and led her to the path of becoming a resident at The Claridge House, Miami, Florida where she spent her last years. With support from family and friends, Ana was a fighter, and her passion for life continued, and so did her infectious smile. Her family loved and cared for her and always embraced her with their presence. Despite rehabilitation, and the challenges she faced, she knew something was missing from her life- Jesus Christ. Ana accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior, which completed her and gave her the missing piece she desperately needed.
Our beloved Ana Vinicia Caba was peacefully called home on December 31, 2024, surrounded by her family. May her soul rest in internal peace!
Hallelujah, God has won the victory!.
