Anne Mae Tesik Kuchejda, age 97, long-term resident of Pembroke Pines, Florida, passed away December 22, 2024, at home. Born on May 13,1927 to John and Katrina Volgas Tesik of Garnerville, New York. She graduated from Haverstraw High School in 1945 where she worked in the office after graduation. She relocated to Chicago in 1953 with husband and daughter. Anne relocated to Florida after retiring from Signode/ITW in Glenview, Illinois where she worked as Executive Assistant to the Executive Suite for 30 years. Upon relocating to Florida, she was employed by the City of Sunrise and, subsequently, became parish secretary at St. Edward’s Catholic Church after being recruited by Monsignor Michael Eivers being one of the pillars in establishing the new parish. She remained in that post for over 25 years.
Anne is survived by her daughter, Deborah-Anne Meck, grandchildren, Christa L. Meck/Bryan Lowery of Leander, Tx and Robert A. and Victoria Meck of Sunrise, FL., and great-grandchildren: Ryan A Meck, Reece V. Meck and Riley L. Meck of Sunrise, FL; as well as many nieces and nephews. Anne is predeceased by her parents, brothers: James and John Jr., sisters: Catherine Palso and Rosemary Mertzel, nephew John Tesik and niece Susan Tesik Druhan, both of California and former spouse.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: St. Jude’s Research Hospital for Children or the Alzheimer’s Association. Interment will be at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Mausoleum immediately following the memorial Mass.
