It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Barrington O’Keith Douglas, affectionately known as “Pope,” “Popeman,” “Daddy P,” and “Ray,” who left us on January 15, 2025. Barrington was born on March 18, 1968, in Lionel Clarendon, Jamaica, to the late Raymond Douglas and Euphemia Tulloch.
Barrington’s education was limited to Bustamante High School, but his brilliance and self-taught knowledge allowed him to lead a successful and fulfilling life. Throughout his journey, he worked in many fields, always maintaining a hardworking, loving, and generous nature. He was known for his kindness, righteousness, and decency. Barrington lived life on his own terms, embracing the joys of the casino, music, parties, the racetrack, and most importantly, spending quality time with his friends at the shop and enjoying family gatherings during the holidays.
Barrington’s heart was full of love for his family, and he leaves behind a legacy that will forever be cherished by his children, grandchildren, siblings, and extended family:
Daughters: O’Kaila, Madison, and April
Sons: Kirk, Rayshon, and Chad
Grandchildren: Kalisha, Kelano, and Myrah
Brothers: Winston, Owen, Collin, Neville, and Carlton
Sisters: Andrea and Carmen
In addition to his immediate family, Barrington is survived by a host of great friends, nieces, nephews, and other family members who will remember him with love and fondness.
Barrington’s life was one of joy, laughter, and love, and though he is no longer with us, his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. May he rest in peace.
To honor and remember Pope, contributions can be made towards his final resting place in a niche at Fairway Memorial Gardens in Deerfield. Donations may be sent via Zelle or Cash App to 954-371-5643. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Daddy, you’ll forever be in my heart! Words cannot describe how much I miss you and the fact you’re no longer here with me kills me. You would’ve never wanted me to be inside, isolating myself and that’s the reason why I go out and try to live only with your memories. The pain of not seeing you, hearing your voice and talking to you daily still has me crying publicly. I’m holding back daily and I just miss you and wish you were here. I love you eternally daddy. Until we meet again!! 🕊️🫀🌎😢
