Phyllis E. Devy, passed away on April 10, 2025, at her home in Pembroke Pines, Florida. Phyllis was a devout Catholic. She retired from Bristol Myers Squib in Princeton, New Jersey and moved to Weston, Florida where she purchased her fifth home. When she arrived, it was the early 1980s and Weston was the greatest place to explore and have new adventures in South Florida and she did so successfully with her second husband Robert. E. Devey
She is survived by her children, Michael, Maureen, Jacquelin, John and Beverly, with Jodi and Emily by her side today. There are also many grandchildren living in Florida, New Jersey and Texas.
Over time everyone witnessed the kindred spirit in both, Phyllis and Bob and everyone was always welcome to Florida with open arms. To Phyllis’s accolade-her journey was about sharing everything imaginable without prejudice. She went on to support many causes like the Covenant House and Homeless Kitchens where she volunteered her time and efforts. She was also a founding member of a Weston Gourmet Club where friends would meet up at each other’s homes once a month to have fun, food and conversation. Many other social clubs followed and with every new club she joined she invited them all to her home in Weston to indulge in her culinary talents. Her generosity never stopped, and she never quit helping the world around her.
There were big challenges for Phyllis in life. Some were during the women’s rights era. It is there she had to learn how to use her Feisty Spirit and there was no You Tube. She never asked for respect or admiration, but she deserves it because she made it through and succeeded at many things in life. Everyone who knew her, loved her. She shared everything all the time, the miracles and blessings included.
Thank You Mom and Grandmom for being a beautiful person and a wonderful Mother and Grandmother. You showed that you loved everyone. We love you very much too.
A Memorial Mass, to be announced, will be scheduled at St. Raphael-Holy Angels Parish located at 3500 South Broad Street, Hamilton Township, New Jersey 08610 with an Inurnment at Saint Mary’s Cemetery.
