Angela Pera’s, [94], of Cooper City Florida, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2025. Angela was born on November 23, 1930 in Galicia, Spain. She was raised a humble farm girl in the midst of a Civil war during the rise of fascism in Spain under Franco. She worked herself out of poverty and poor education leaving Madrid at the age of 18 to seek a better life in Cuba where she would meet her Future husband and love of her life Pedro Pera. Those early years in Cuba were marvelous but as the Civil War erupted and communism took hold, she aided those fighting to free Cuba from Communism. Her and her husband joined the underground trying to overthrow Fidel Castro. She had her two children, Odalys and Peter, during the upheaval and began to plan an escape from the tyranny of communist Cuba. She suffered under the oppressive yoke of communism enduring threats of death and the unlawful jailing of her husband. Her spirit could not be broken! Angela and her family fled on April 24th 1969, to freedom and hope for a better future to the welcoming shores of America. She devoted herself to her family and worked to achieve a brighter future for her children.
Angela was a dedicated mother to Odalys and Peter instilling in them a love for God and passion for a better life through hard work and education that was unavailable to her. She was an exemplary mother. Both Angela and Pedro created a home filled with love and support and achieved so much more than they could have ever expected or hoped for. Angela worked and sacrificed to assure that brighter future for her children, instilling in them deep spiritual passion, teaching hard work and the importance of living a moral.
Angela leaves a lasting legacy in the lives of Her Son, Peter Pera, Daughter in law, Martha Pera, and grandchildren, Marco, Peter jr., Sophia, and Victoria. Angela touched the lives of so many, She will be remembered for her welcoming spirit, fantastic cooking and her gift of hospitality and heart of service. She was a blessing to all.
