With profound sadness and with hearts full of gratitude for having shared his life with us, we announce the passing of our beloved friend Pedro A. Ocasio Silva, whom we affectionately called Pedrito. A sophisticated, wise, selfless, and deeply spiritual gentleman, whose presence left an indelible mark on all of us who had the privilege of knowing him.
Pedrito was a US Army veteran, a true gentleman, always walking with composure and looking forward with his head held high. He traveled the world, mastered several languages, and lived every stage of his life intensely. He always had a fascinating story to tell, from his unforgettable travels to meeting the iconic Sophia Loren. He had a special gift for conversation, with his unexpected jokes and always anecdotes that brightened any moment.
Beyond his experiences, what truly defined Pedro was his generous soul and his unconditional willingness to help others without any personal gain. Endowed with spiritual gifts, a gift from God, he never hesitated to share them to comfort, guide, or simply listen to anyone in need. He was a guide, a life teacher, a loving sponsor, a loyal friend, and a wonderful human being of light. There are no words to describe how much we already miss hearing his voice.
His usual response when asked how he was was: “I’m fine, here in the struggle.” With this, he taught us humility, strength, and his desire to never be a burden to anyone, even when he carried the pain of many.
Pedro was born in Puerto Rico, the son of Olegario Ocasio and Alfonsa Silva.
He leaves behind an immense emptiness in our souls. His absence is felt in every conversation, in every silence, in every memory. And yet, we also feel his presence in every corner of our lives. Because those who live with such light never truly leave. We know that his spirit will remain with us, listening to us from heaven and giving us the peace he always knew how to give in life.
