Sara Ruth Waggoner (Ruth), age 87, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2025 in Davie, Florida.
Born on December 20, 1937 in Jacksonville, Florida, Ruth was the oldest daughter of Roger and Sara Thompson. She grew up with a strong sense of family that would guide her throughout her life. She is survived by her beloved younger sister, Donna Ibbetson.
For 68 years, Ruth was the devoted wife of Thomas Waggoner. Together they built a life centered on love, faith, and family. She was a proud mother to three sons—Richard, Ronald, and Timothy—and cherished her role as both grandmother to 9 grandchildren and great-grandmother to 13 great-grandchildren.
Ruth dedicated her life to serving the Lord. As a pastor’s wife, she embraced her calling with grace and humility, offering guidance and support to those around her. Her role as a teacher and mentor reflected her deep commitment to nurturing others in their spiritual journeys.
In addition to her ministry work, Ruth found joy in everyday acts of creativity and service. She took tremendous pride in her job as a cake decorator at Publix, where she brought smiles to countless celebrations with her artistry and attention to detail.
Those who knew Ruth remember her as a loving and caring person who engaged people with an open heart. Her warmth left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
