Edna Mae McGrath

November 20, 1927~September 01, 2025

Edna (Edina) Mae McGrath of Hollywood Floria, passed away on September 1, 2025, after 97 full, rich, abundant, wealth of experiences, spunky years of life.

She & her two sisters were born in Boston Massachusetts.  She is survived by her three sons and 1 daughter, that blessed the family with 10 Grandchildren, 21 Great Grandchildren, and 5 Great, Great Grandchildren.

Edna (Edina) married a service man in 1947, started a family in 1948 and moved to Florida in 1953.  The family grew and their lives involved being stationed in Egypt, and Puerto Rico due to her husband’s work for Pan Am.  During the many years back in Miami, she continued raising the family and performed numerous dance skits with the “Dancing Mothers of Miami” on the cruise ships and dance studio productions.

The 70’s brought the introduction to her 50+ years of avid health awareness, intense knowledge, instruction to others and strong healthy eating & excersining stance.

She enjoyed many long working years prior to retiring from Carnival Cruise Lines.  Thereafter, she continued to stay very busy with leading numerous trips to Israel.  She traveled to Russia, London, China, Jamacia, etc., helping many outreach programs/ organizations and orphanages.  She was very involved with her church, various Praise & Dance groups, directing many years of the YMCA Snappy Seniors Annual Talent Shows, and was awarded Ms. Senior Florida of 2020 & 2021.

Edna (Edina) spent her life helping others, being dedicated to her family, and to the Lord.  If not for him, she would not have been the strong, beautiful instrument and angel on earth to others that she was.  Her angel work and helping hands are now needed elsewhere.

She will be missed, but a part of her dynamo spirit will remain with each of us.

For anyone reading this, Edna’s (Edina’s) utmost wish would be for everyone to accept the Lord and his blessings into their life and eventually join her with rejoicing in heaven.

Cheers to Edna (Edina) on a life lived to the fullest!  We know she’s dancing with the angels now.
