Ted was born at St Francis Hospital in Miami Beach. He grew up in North Miami and is a graduate of North Miami Senior High School and attended Miami Dade Junior College. Ted started his career as a salesman with Yale Ogren Window Company, Hialeah, Fla. He retired from Latham Marine with 24 Yrs service.

Ted is the son of Cecile T Manseau and Walter Desley Chance, Sr. He met his soulmate and the love of his life, Sonia where they both worked in Hialeah. He is survived by his brother and sisters: Janice Chance Davis (Charles), St Marys, Ga; Walter Desley Chance, Jr (Betty), Deltona, Fl; Susan Chance Hecker, Warwick, NY. He is predeceased by his parents and sister, Kathleen Chance Latham (Bob), Ft Lauderdale, Fl and a nephew, Charles Robert Davis, Sr (Michele), Houston, Tx. He was the best of uncles to Jennifer Davis Paden (Marc) and family, Ted and Eli; Darren Chance Davis (Elizabeth), Jacksonville, Fla; Rebecca M, Davis (Ani Jha), London, UK; Miranda Davis Mackman ( Kent) and son, Miles, Cary, NC and Connor R Davis, Dallas, Texas; George Mejia, Italy; and Lizette Zayas-Bazan Teodoro, Miami, Fl.

Ted was an avid fan of the University of Miami Hurricanes and the Miami Dolphins. He appreciated all kinds of music. He has left his family and friends with many fun and happy memories and will be missed by all.
