March 29, 1933~February 16, 2026

Raquel Ortega de Otero, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at the age of 92, leaving behind a strong legacy of faith, love, kindness, resilience, and service to all who knew her.

She was born on March 29, 1933, in Valencia, Venezuela, to her parents, Jesus Maria Ortega and Analuisa Araujo, whose love and guidance helped shape the woman of faith, strength, and compassion she would become.

In 1954, she married José Daniel Otero, beginning a marriage rooted in love and commitment. Together they welcomed two children, Luis Daniel and Ana. After being widowed in 1960, Raquel devoted her life to raising her children with unwavering strength, instilling in them the values of faith, integrity, compassion, kindness, and hard work that defined her own life.

Raquel worked at Citibank for 30 years, balancing her professional dedication with her deep commitment to her family. Throughout her life, Raquel embodied kindness, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family and her faith. She was a steady source of comfort, wisdom, and encouragement, always placing the needs of others before her own. Her home was a place of warmth and welcome, where family gatherings were filled with laughter, stories, and enduring traditions.

Raquel’s love extended beyond her family into her community, where she lived her values through quiet acts of generosity and compassion. Her example of humility and grace will continue to guide and inspire those she leaves behind.

In 2013, she moved to Florida to be with her daughter and family. There, she experienced the joy of watching her family grow, cherishing every moment with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her final years were spent surrounded by the love, gratitude, and care of the family she had always loved and supported.

She is survived by her two children, Luis Daniel and Ana; her two in-laws, Jorge and Lourdes; one goddaughter, Gabriela; six grandchildren, Luisa Matilde, Ana, Beatriz, Victor, Ricardo, and Marines; and four great-grandchildren, Alejandro, Felipe, Luciana, and Malena.

Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit lives on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who were touched by her life. We find comfort in knowing she is now at peace in the presence of her Heavenly Father. Her life was a beautiful testament to faith, perseverance, unconditional love, and kindness—and her legacy of faith and love will endure for generations to come.

Visitation will take place on Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM with a Funeral Service starting at 5:00 PM at Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care, University Drive Chapel.
