Emma M. Martinez, 81, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2026, in Hollywood, Florida. Born on October 15, 1944, in Ecuador, she lived a life defined by love, devotion, and unwavering care for those around her.
Emma dedicated over 30 years of her life to her craft as a seamstress. Her skilled hands and meticulous attention to detail brought beauty and functionality to countless garments, reflecting her dedication and pride in her work. Beyond her career, Emma was deeply rooted in her faith as a devout Catholic and an active member of Annunciation Catholic Church. Her spirituality was a guiding force throughout her life, shaping the values she instilled in her family and the kindness she extended to everyone she encountered.
Emma’s legacy is carried forward by her daughters Julie Aguilar and Christine Francis, as well as her cherished grandchildren, Taylor Whitten and Johfran Aguilar. She was predeceased by her daughter Caroline Hidalgo. Emma’s family was the center of her world; she was a loving mother and grandmother who always prioritized their happiness and well-being.
Known for being loving, supportive, loyal, joyous, spiritual, and caring. Emma had an extraordinary ability to make those around her feel valued and cared for. She selflessly took care of everyone in her life with a heart full of compassion and generosity.
May Emma’s memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, February 26th at 11:00 AM at Hollywood Memorial Gardens West, located at 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood, Florida 33024.

“La abuela”, like she was affectionately called was truly one of a kind. To truly know her or even cross paths would leave you loving her. She spoke her mind and lived her life unapologetically. You were like a mother to me when I had none . You took me in as your daughter at 15 . You treated me as your own and no different. There are so many wonderful memories . You were there for good and bad and never judged anyone , but always tried to help everyone. I love you and will miss you terribly . Jules and Mune, She was awesome the best! Emma was so much more than just a mother-in-law to me, she was the woman who shaped my wife into the incredible person she is today. Through her values, her care for everyone around her, and her endless love, she left a positive mark on all of us.
I’ll always miss her smile and the sound of her laughter. She was an extraordinary chef and, above all, an amazing mother.
She will be deeply missed, but she will live forever in my heart.
