Jimmy S. Poole, 75, passed away on June 13, 2026.
Jimmy never met a problem he couldn’t fix, or a project he couldn’t improve. His skill set was legendary. He could sew a Gumby costume, pour concrete, rebuild an engine, wire a building, repair a golf cart, and explain exactly why your plan wasn’t going to work. He also had the sensitivity and gentle enough touch to remove broken glass from the hair and head of a crash victim, that no one else would attempt.
His family is still trying to determine if there was anything he couldn’t do, though following instructions was occasionally suspected.
Jimmy spent the last 24 years in Hallandale Beach, Florida with his loving wife, Carol. They enjoyed traveling and cruising and were fiercely devoted to each other.
He leaves behind a family who loved him, and many friends who will miss him, including his Facebook friends, some of whom he has known since high school.
While we mourn his passing, we’re comforted knowing that wherever Jimmy is now, he’s probably already informed the management that the gate hinges aren’t level, the toilet paper roll was installed upside down and somebody ought to do something about the empty bottle of Crown.
And if he’s looking down on us today, he’d likely say: “It’s time to say goodbye, please don’t grieve for me. I had a good life and life is for the living. Hope to see you again one day for a grand reunion.” •
Jimmy is survived by his loving wife, Carol Kagno; his daughter, Irish Bostwick (Jeremy); grandchildren: Liam, Quinlan, Duncan, Brigid, and Patrick Bostwick.
He was preceded in death by his beloved first wife, Susie Poole; and son, Jimmy Jo Poole.
A Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Carrollton, GA., details to be announced at a later date, as will be a celebration of life in Hallandale and Boston in the near future.
Arrangements entrusted to Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care, 1600 N. University Drive, Pembroke Pines, Florida 33024.
