Anita Iris Ardito, aged 85, passed away on May 19, 2026, in Hollywood, Florida. A private family service of remembrance has been held in her honor. Born on November 18, 1940, in White Plains, New York, Anita was the daughter of the late Yolanda Tosone and Frank Ardito. Anita was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Mary. She is survived by her brother, Frank Jr.; her three children, Marc, Maria, and Danielle; and her seven cherished grandchildren.

Anita dedicated her life to the arts and the enrichment of others. In her early career, she worked as an Art Therapist. After obtaining her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, she taught for several years at Notre Dame Academy in Miami, Florida before finally joining the faculty at Pembroke Pines Middle School as an art teacher.

In her teaching, Anita found great joy helping young people discover their unique creativity. In her painting, she saw the world with an artist’s eye, dedicating several years to a series of cloud paintings that capture the vast, infinite beauty of the skies. As a mother of three, her warmth, love, support, and encouragement were equally boundless.
