With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Virginia Y. Urquhart, at the age of 85, on August 18, 2026. Virginia was born on June 18, 1941 in Miami, Florida.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Urquhart; her parents, James and Garnet Yancey; sister, Annette Berry; son-in-law, Philip Rosencrans; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Kuse and grandson, Allen Slick.

Virginia was a loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to everyone she met. She was a devoted wife to her husband Bill for over 30 years. She was a proud graduate of Miami Jackson Senior High School. A dedicated employee at Biscayne Pet House for many years and was proud of her work with pets. Before retiring she dedicated many years working at Hallmark. There she developed a special love for Hallmark ornaments and other novelties. She especially loved to gift them to her family.

Virginia’s greatest joy and proudest achievement was her family. She cherished every moment she had with them and counted it as a true blessing to have so many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her heart was always the fullest when she got to spend time with her family, especially when she could sneak a couple pictures of everyone when they weren’t looking.

Virginia is survived by her children: Michael Kuse, Wanda Rosencrans, Robert Kuse and Cherie (David) Chambers; grandchildren: Mendi Kuse, Sheri (Chris) Tralewski, Phillip Rosencrans, Patrick Rosencrans, Brandon Kuse, Jarrod (Tara) Kuse, Kylie (Jessiah) Contreras and Zachary Chambers; great-grandchildren: Matthew, Joshua, Lillian, Summer, Forrest, Kinsley and Cooper; siblings: sister, Louise (Joe) Martinez; brother-in-law: Cliff Berry; nieces and nephews: Sean (Michelle), Wendy (David), and Corey; great nieces and nephew: Ashley, Brett, and Alyssa.

Her memory will continue to live on alongside that of her nephew, Clifford Berry, who passed away just weeks after her.

Virginia will be remembered for the way she loved, cared for, and showed up for her family and friends alike. She was wonderfully attentive, remembering even the smallest details someone mentioned in passing and turning those into thoughtful gifts or gestures. She will be remembered for her fierce independence and her one-of-a-kind spirit. For finding joy in little things, whether it be her Hallmark treasures, beloved Snoopy, jewelry, or even finding a good deal at a store. Her playful, mischievous sense of humor and that little laugh when she thought she’d gotten away with something. Most of all, for being present for the moments that mattered, supporting the people she loved throughout their lives, and for loving her family in a way that made each of them feel remembered.

Celebration of Life Service to be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at Epworth United Methodist Church, 7651 Johnson Street, Hollywood, Florida 33024. Family and friends are invited to the church’s Wesley Hall, for a time of fellowship and refreshments following the celebration of life service.
