Maria Casiano, of Miami Gardens, Florida, passed away peacefully at the age of 100. She was born in La Romana, Dominican Republic, to Puerto Rican parents, Petra and Felipe Rosario.
Maria lived a remarkable life defined by faith, service, compassion, and love for her family and community. She dedicated more than 40 years to the noble profession of nursing, spending 25 years serving in the Dominican Republic and 15 years in New York. Throughout her career, Maria cared for countless individuals, helped bring new life into the world, and offered comfort and compassion to those in need. Her dedication to serving others extended beyond her professional career through her outreach work in both the Dominican Republic and New York, where she touched many lives.
Maria was blessed in marriage to Andres Mañana, and together they raised their beloved daughter, Ramy. Her family continued to grow through her granddaughters, Xiomara, Lynette, and Vanessa, and her great-grandchildren, Alanis and Jazz, who will forever carry her love and legacy in their hearts.
Maria’s faith was an important part of her life. For 50 years, she faithfully served as a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and was a devoted member of each congregation she attended. In recent years, she worshipped with the La Esperanza de Pembroke congregation.
Maria found joy in the simple and meaningful things in life, including sewing, studying the Bible, and attending church. Her gentle spirit, steadfast faith, caring heart, and willingness to serve others were reflected in everything she did.
Maria leaves behind a beautiful legacy of faith, love, service, and devotion to family. Her 100 years of life were filled with moments and memories that will continue to live on through the generations she leaves behind.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family, friends, church community, and all those whose lives she touched.
May she rest in eternal peace and may her memory continue to be a blessing to all who knew and loved her.
Visitation will take place on Friday, October 16, 2026, from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM with a Funeral Service at 6:00 PM at Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care, University Dive Chapel. Interment will be held at a later date at Cementerio Cristo Salvador in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

María vivió una vida extraordinaria, marcada por la fe, el servicio, la compasión y el amor por su familia y su comunidad. Dedicó más de 40 años a la noble profesión de la enfermería, ejerciendo durante 25 años en la República Dominicana y 15 años en Nueva York. A lo largo de su carrera, María cuidó de innumerables personas, ayudó a traer nuevas vidas al mundo y brindó consuelo y compasión a quienes lo necesitaban. Su dedicación al servicio de los demás trascendió su carrera profesional a través de su labor comunitaria tanto en la República Dominicana como en Nueva York, donde dejó una huella en la vida de muchas personas.
María tuvo la dicha de compartir su vida matrimonial con Andrés Mañana, y juntos formaron y criaron a su amada hija, Ramy. Su familia continuó creciendo con sus nietas, Xiomara, Lynette y Vanessa, y sus bisnietos, Alanis y Jazz, quienes llevarán para siempre su amor y su legado en sus corazones.
La fe de María fue una parte fundamental de su vida. Durante 50 años, fue fiel miembro de la Iglesia Adventista del Séptimo Día y participó con devoción en cada congregación a la que perteneció. En los últimos años, formó parte de la congregación La Esperanza de Pembroke.
María encontraba alegría en las cosas sencillas y significativas de la vida, entre ellas coser, estudiar la Biblia y asistir a la iglesia. Su espíritu bondadoso, su fe inquebrantable, su corazón generoso y su disposición para servir a los demás se reflejaban en todo lo que hacía.
María deja un hermoso legado de fe, amor, servicio y dedicación a su familia. Sus 100 años de vida estuvieron llenos de momentos y recuerdos que continuarán viviendo a través de las generaciones que deja atrás.
Será profundamente extrañada y siempre recordada con amor por su familia, amigos, comunidad de fe y por todas aquellas personas cuyas vidas tocó.
Que descanse en paz eterna y que su memoria continúe siendo una bendición para todos aquellos que la conocieron y amaron.
El velorio se llevará a cabo el viernes, 16 de octubre de 2026, de 5:00 p. m. a 7:00 p. m., seguido de un servicio a las 6:00 p. m., en Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care, University Drive Chapel.
La sepultura se llevará a cabo en una fecha posterior en el Cementerio Cristo Salvador, en Santo Domingo, República Dominicana.
