Jose Jorge Chirinos

January 27, 1946~November 10, 2025

Jose Jorge Chirinos, 79, passed away on November 10, 2025, in Plantation, Florida. Born on January 27, 1946, in Lima, Peru, Jose lived a life marked by courage, hard work, and deep love for his family.

Jose began his education at the distinguished Leoncio Prado Military College in La Perla, Peru. Driven by a spirit of adventure and determination, he made the brave decision to leave his homeland and pursue higher education in the United States, despite not knowing the language. He began his collegiate journey at Covell College at the University of the Pacific, a Spanish-English dual immersion institution that introduced him to American academia. But wanting to challenge himself further and take classes solely in English, he transferred to Sacramento State, where he would not only continue his studies, but also meet the love of his life, Carol – his dear “Carolcita.”

After graduating with a master’s degree in mechanical engineering, Jose began a long and distinguished career in telecommunications that gave him the opportunity to travel and share his expertise worldwide. He began his career with Pacific Telephone, and his drive and determination helped him steadily advance through the industry. His professional journey eventually moved him and his family across the country to New Jersey while he worked for AT&T and later, during his time with Lucent Technologies, to South Florida.

Jose, who had a wicked sense of humor, had a passion for cooking, particularly Peruvian cuisine and was an avid tennis fan. When he wasn’t on the court with family and friends, he would make sure to tune in to watch every Grand Slam and tour event possible. He was a hard-working man who always strove to do right by those he loved and showed strength and resilience during his decades-long battle with Parkinson’s late in life.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Carol; his son, David, and daughter-in-law Christy; his daughter, Claudia Wade and son-in-law Brian; and his cherished grandchildren, Isabelle Wade and Alexander Chirinos. He also leaves behind his sister Josefina Roque and her husband, Otto, and his nephews Rafael and Otto Roque, Jr., along with his niece Carolina Roque.

He was predeceased by his mother, Graciela Chirinos and his father, Dr. Jose Chirinos Maroquin.

A viewing for Jose will be held on November 17, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care, 1600 N. University Drive in Pembroke Pines, Florida. A memorial service at Covenant Living, where Jose most recently resided, will be announced at a later date.

Memorial donations can be made to the National Parkinson’s Foundation in his honor, Jose Jorge Chirinos Memorial Donation Page

May Jose’s memory bring comfort and inspiration to all who were fortunate to know him.
