Alvarez, Albert A., 87, of North Lauderdale passed away Sunday, September 2, 2007 surrounded by his children and their families. Born in Tampa, Florida to Rupert and Pilar Alvarez, who migrated from Spain. He lived in Tampa until the early 40’s. He then moved to New York City, later joined the Navy and served overseas until 1945. Albert meet and married his late wife Piedad Intriago in 1951. Together they raised 6 children and lived in New York City until 1971. He is survived by children: Patricia Wetzel, Albert Alvarez Jr. , Susan Vaughan, Martha Loftus, Bob, Jim Alvarez, Mary, Robert Alvarez, Lisa, 12 grand children, 5 great grand children and his sister Judy Falcon. Friends may visit from 5-7 PM, Wednesday, September 5, at Boyd’s University Dr. Chapel. The religious service will begin at 6:00 PM. The Family request donations be made in Albert’s memory to American Veterans Association or The American Cancer Society.
