Albert Frederick Napierkowski, 86, of Port St Lucie, FL passed away peacefully on August 19, 2023.
Al was born in Worcester, MA on February 3, 1937, to parents John and Stella Napierkowski. He attended Leceister High School before moving to Boston and graduating from an all-male Boston English High School. During school, Albert worked part time skinning minks, clerking at jewelry and trophy shop, and as a chemistry assistant at a chemical company.
Following high school, Al signed up for the Army and trained in Oklahoma, New Jersey, and Georgia. He became a Sergeant in the Army and served as a Commander in the Civil Air Patrol while in Boston before being sent to Korea. He experienced a super-typhoon while in the Pacific in 1959. During his time training in Georgia Al vacationed in Florida and was one of “Where the Boys Are” (movie) in Fort Lauderdale. Al’s experience in the Army was in ballistic artillery and meteorology.
After his time in the Army, Al was employed at Honeywell Semi-conductors in Riveira Beach making the first computer chips and then at Pratt-Whitney Aircraft in West Palm Beach as a computer programmer. During his time in Florida, he started the Catholic Young Adult Club of Palm Beaches, where he remained good friends with many couples for the remainder of his life. The club resulted in many marriages to PW Engineers including his own to his loving wife Judy who was working at St Mary’s Hospital. They were married in 1965 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, West Palm Beach and rented a house in West Palm Beach. They gave birth to their son Jon in 1967 at Judy’s hospital. The nuns wrapped him in Christmas stockings to be brought home on Christmas day.
Al moved to Palm Springs (Lake Worth) and graduated from Palm Beach State College followed by FAU with a BA degree in Management Science and Systems while still working at PW. His daughter Janine was born four years later and the family moved to Palm beach National (Lake Worth) to live for over 50 years following a significant remodeling. Al then became a Systems Analyst at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Palm Beach where his daughter Janine was born. Al ushered at St. Luke’s Catholic Church and helped his son become an alter boy. He then started working as a Systems Analyst at PBC school board and became active in Amway for 19 years achieving the Ruby status and a free Hawaiian vacation. Friends were his distributors and others in the organization enjoyed many trips together. He had a home business room and monthly
potlucks. Al was the President of his HOA association and was responsible for many safety improvements.
His son Jon Michael was killed in 1989 at age 21 in an auto accident. He had his own successful legal business in downtown West Palm Beach. The Community Foundation of Palm Beaches has a scholarship awarded annually in his name. There is a plaque at PBSC of Jon at the criminal justice building and a stained-glass window at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in his honor. Most of his organs were donated through the University of Miami.
His daughter Janine graduated from FAU before getting married and giving birth to Al’s first grandchild, Michele. After many years in Lake Worth, Al and Judy moved to Port St. Lucie to be closer to Janine and Michele. Al retired from PBC school board and got his Real Estate license and Mortgage Broker license. He worked in Jacksonville Consulting for 1999-2000 computer conversion and came home on the weekends. During this time Al was diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy which caused walking problems. He was later diagnosed with Lewy-Body Dementia and could no longer drive. He moved to Cascade Community (PSL) for two years before moving into his present home in 2020. His dementia worsened and he died peacefully in a VA foster home in Port St. Lucie.
His favorite trip was a Danube River Cruise and visiting his sister in California including being on The Price Is Right. He went on the Honor Flight six years ago to Washington, DC. Al is preceded in death by his parents, John and Stella Napierkowski and his son, Jon Michael Napierkowski.
Left to cherish his memories is his loving wife, Judy; sisters, Irene Norton of Salisbury, NC and Linda Korzun of Laguna Beach, CA; daughter, Janine (James Pool) Streiner of Port St. Lucie, FL; granddaughter, Michele (Ryan) Piccolo of Port St. Lucie, FL; great-granddaughter, Anastasia Piccolo; and five nieces and nephews of NC and CA.

A tribute to Albert Frederick Napierkowski (Feb. 3, 1937 – August 19, 2023), to my beloved father on his first Birthday🎂 in Heaven…
There are just simply not enough words in existense to express my endless gratitude to my father and regard for him. He loved his family but he also really cared about people in general, and one of many ways he exemplified this was how he contributed generously to so many causes – for children, cancer, police, firefighters, injured veterans, just to name a few – every single year, especially at Christmas time, to as many as he could. He not only was a Korean (Army/Air Force) veteran but he was an ardent patriot (which also just happens to be his favorite team as a Worcester/Boston native). He left an indelible imprint on the MANY lives that he touched.
Right now I know that my father is enjoying his reunion with his son/my brother, making up for all those father-son moments that were once thought lost when my brother entered Heaven in 1989. I know they are now together in peace and happiness while those who share in my sentiment still miss them both immensely. And for this reason, I celebrate both of them in their honor until the day we are together once again.
——————————————
To ‘My favorite Dad,’ I know your Birthday today will be as special as you are as you deserve all the greatest that Heaven offers. I just can’t help wishing that you were still here with me to this day. Please forgive me as I still am in the process of accepting that you are away for now. In the meantime, I know that I will never cease in dutifully honoring you while I am still on this Earth (and I’m sure even long after, you will still be held in high esteem for who you are and all the good that you’ve done for so many). Forevermore, I’ll feel so fortunate to have had you in my life and for as long as I did. I pray that you truly are in a most blissful, peaceful state of existence as you deserve more than words can ever express♥️
Love you for all of eternity,
Janine
