Albert Mathews “Chief” Durso, US Navy Veteran and Retired Miami Police Lieutenant, age 84, of Weston, Florida, passed peacefully in his sleep at his residence on September 27, 2024.
He was born in Hartford, Connecticut, on November 11, 1939, to the late Albert Peter Durso and Nathalie Lillian Masciola.
He was a great man, and he will be terribly missed. He was truly a gentleman with a big heart and warm smile; a good-natured man, kind, and always willing to help.
He is survived by his wife, Marina; his son Ricardo; his granddaughters Júlia and Lívia; brother Brian; sisters April, Jeanne and Debbie; nephews David, Ian, Jeff and Zevon; nieces Carol, Katia and Pam; numerous relatives and dear friends, in United States and Brazil.
Visitation to be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, with Prayer Service/Tributes of a Lifetime and Military Honors at 10:00 am at Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care, 1600 North University Drive, Pembroke Pines, Florida 33024.
