It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Anita Sherrill Crim Lohmeyer at her home in Pembroke Pines, FL. Anita passed in comfort, dignity, and peace. She was surrounded by love and family. She was born on 6/4/35 and joined her maker on November 29, 2021. She was preceded by her proud parents, Maurice and Helen Crim, and her older sister, Dorothy Truss. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, James Warner Lohmeyer, their children, James Jr, John, and David, their spouses, Trinh, Tracy, and Chrissie, along with her four grandchildren, John Jr., Thomas, Jordan, and Jesse. Anita loved her family with all her heart and soul and was so proud of them as they were equally proud of her.
Anita graduated from Miami Edison High School and excelled in school graduating 6th in her class of 600. Besides excelling in school, she was also in the cadet core. Upon graduating she worked for GMAC, and her then boyfriend (now husband) convinced her to attend college, which she did at the University of Florida. Upon her first break from college, she took a bus home and her boyfriend proposed. Anita said yes, she returned to college to finish her semester, returned home to get married, and then had the responsibility of raising their family.
Anita enjoyed watching her sons’ and grandsons’ sporting events and in her spare time also participated in boating, camping, cooking for her family, gardening, hosting Christmas Eve parties, reading, and playing the piano as well as tennis and golf, where she was fortunate enough to record two hole-in-ones.
Anita’s wisdom and strength of character have touched the lives of so many. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but we know she is in a better place and suffers no longer. She will always be in our hearts. The world is a better place because she was here. May God bless Anita, now and forever.
The family offers its most heartfelt thanks and gratitude to Anita’s caregivers, Ana, Delia, Johnna and Maria for their genuine care, compassion, and support.
Anita’s services will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2021, from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM with Tributes of a Lifetime Service at 4:00 PM at Boyd Panciera Family Funeral Care, 1600 N.
