Anthony “Tony” Guadalupe
Anthony “Tony” Guadalupe, 62, of Hollywood, Florida, regretfully passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at Memorial Regional Hospital due to complications from surgery recovery and developing pneumonia. Tony has always been a fighter, beating cancer and pushing through major heart surgery, and even most recently, he put up a valiant effort to keep his light burning bright until the very end.
Tony is a proud Boricua who was born in Jersey City, New Jersey to his parents Marcos and Ida Guadalupe on December 22, 1959. When he was 11 years old, he and his family moved back to Puerto Rico where he completed his primary and high school education, and attended the University of Puerto Rico. In 1979, he joined the United States Air Force, proudly serving for 13 years until 1992 with key efforts during Desert Storm. Tony ended his military service as Staff Sergeant performing duties as an Aircraft Mechanic and Crew Chief. During his time serving our country, he started building his incredible family as he traveled throughout the world. In one of his most cherished places, Panama, he met his soulmate, Liliana “Lily” Guadalupe in 1984. They married in 1985 and have been partners in shine and on the dance floor for 37 years. After being stationed throughout Panama and Spain, he and Lily made South Florida their home. After his honorable discharge from the Air Force, Tony continued his life of service and joined US Customs and Border Protection where he has been working since 1993.
His work aside, it was Tony’s heart, soul, passion, and willingness to go to bat for the ones he loved that left a lasting impression on anyone he met. Tony was a proud father, brother, friend, and everyone’s favorite DJ. Music fueled his soul and what got so many of us to know him as DJ Tony G. He would spin everyone’s favorite beats to keep the dance floor alive and has been a mainstay for many weddings, award ceremonies, anniversaries, birthdays, festivals, and more.
Tony was predeceased by his parents Marcos and Ida Guadalupe. Tony is survived by his beautiful wife Liliana Guadalupe, his loving children Anthony Guadalupe Jr, Marcos Guadalupe, Maurice Guadalupe and Anna Ida Guadalupe, and his supportive sister Elizabeth Guadalupe.
A funeral service for everyone to pay their final respects will be held at St. Mark Catholic Church at 5601 S. Flamingo Road, Southwest Ranches, Florida 33330 on Friday, November 11, 2022 at 12:00 PM. Tony was a bright and vibrant spirit, and in honor of that, the family requests everyone to wear their favorite color instead of black attire so we can brighten up the room even on one of our darkest days.
Tony will be laid to rest in the place that is closest to his heart, Puerto Rico. He’ll join his parents at Puerto Rico National Cemetery in Bayamón, PR. His immediate family will be traveling to complete this ceremony in the coming weeks.
As an expression of sympathy and lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to one of Tony’s favorite causes, the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements entrusted to: Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care, 1600 N. University Drive, Pembroke Pines, Florida 33024.

Tony was one in a million. He was spinning some wonderful music at my moms 80th birthday celebration this past August and was in such great spirit. He was loving, hilarious and had an interesting vocabulary that included many F Bombs 💣 😂. His energy, spirit and smile will be sorely missed. Sending love, light and prayers to Lily, his children and family. We lost a good one. May Tony Rest In Peace.

Tony..mi hermano. We met in Panama back in 1986, then we ended back together in 1989 in Spain. We shared great times, fishing Panama Canal from partying our asses off in Spain, especially in the CHAT Club. You DJ’d for us all the time. We met back in Puerto Rico during the passing of your beloved mother, also at the airport where I worked, the times we had the chance to talk, we did it for over an hour. I know you’re enjoying the next dimension with mom, dad and Mina. Having a blast in Paradise. See you very soon.

I’m saddened at the loss of such a wonderful person. Gone too soon. I met DJ Tony G when he was the DJ for my very first 4-day festival back in 2019. He has been the DJ at every festival since. What a remarkable personality he had. He went above and beyond to make sure everything was always great with my events – even beyond just being the festival DJ. I consider him to be a dear friend, a great man, simply someone you can always count on. He was one of the good ones. And he will sorely be missed. Rest in Paradise my friend.

Tony, gran amigo y hermano. Te acompañare junto a tu familia a tu destino final Puerto Rico.

Rest in peace brother. As children we were neighbors in PR and played little league ball together. Incredible that as adults we would meet again many years later in Miami working for the same team (USCS). Until we meet again and become teammates in heaven. Hasta luego hermano.

Tony was an amazing person, a hard worker, a family man. He was full of jokes and could cheer anyone up. He always had the next Gig coming up. I’ll never forget meeting up with you and Lily at the concert in the Boca Amphitheater with my favorite old school Boy George. The good old days. Rest In Peace my friend thank you for your spirit. “The ones we love are never gone, they live within our hearts”.
My deepest condolences. May God bless all of your family and loved ones during this difficult time.
