Anthony Joseph Serrone, 94, a proud US Navy veteran, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, January 6, 2016, at his Davie residence. He was born on June 10, 1921, in Italy, to the late Angelo Serrone and Annunziata Cappella. Preceded in death by his beloved wife Elizabeth Serrone. He is survived by his daughters, Susan (William) Bruno, Eileen (John) Sawyer and Donna Leavy; son, Robert “Bob” Serrone and his wife, Maryann; grandchildren, Todd Bruno, Kristi (David) Bruno-Wittingham, Shannon Sawyer, Jamie Sawyer, Jennifer Leavy, Alexis Serrone, Anthony Serrone; and great-grandchildren, Dominic and Gavin Wittingham. Visitation will take place on Sunday, January 10, 2016, from 4-9 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m. at Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care, University Drive Chapel. Funeral Mass will be on Monday, January 11, 2016, 10:00 a.m. at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church.
