Antonio (aka Anthony) Massa, of Hollywood, Florida has, with deep sadness, passed away unexpectedly while at his summer home in Greenville, Virginia on August 30, 2024 while he was still extremely active in the things he loved to do.
Antonio was born on June 14, 1936 in his family’s small farm house in Palomonte, Italy. He came to America, by himself, at the age of 16 on the ship, Vulcania. He was chosen by his parents to lead the way and live with his Aunt Jenny. At Ellis Island in New York, his name was changed to Anthony.
Anthony was preceded in death by his sister, Maria Massa; mother, Maria Bastardi Massa; father, Antonio Massa; niece, Maria Massa and sisters-in-law: Gabrielle Massa and Carmela Massa.
Anthony is survived by his daughter, LuAnn Massa Samuelson and her husband, Walter Samuelson. Grandson, Anthony Samuelson and his wife, Sara and great-granddaughter, Violet. Grandson, Thomas Samuelson. Grandson, Jonathan Samuelson and his wife, Jordan and great-grandson, Miles. Grandson, David Samuelson; Former wife, Louise Massa and her family. Long-time partner, Adele Howlett and her family; his brothers: Vito Massa, Danny Massa and his wife, JoAnn and Joseph Massa; nephews: Michael Massa and Daniel Massa and his wife, Melissa and their daughters; nieces: Angela Pallero and her husband, Alex and their children, Susan-Ann Cunnigham and her husband, Mark and their children, Julia Mills and her husband, Jack and their daughters, Christine McGee and her husband, Craig and their children, Maria Massa, Donna Massa and husband, Onexy and their children and Irene Massa.
His visitation will be held on Friday, September 20, 2024 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, with a Prayer Service and Tribute of a Lifetime Service to be held at 6:00 PM at Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care, 1600 N. University Drive, Pembroke Pines, Florida 33024.
For those unable to attend, her family is offering LIVESTREAMING of the service on Friday, September 20, 2024 starting at 6:00 PM. The link to attend virtually is on the Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care Facebook page at BOYD-PANCIERA FAMILY FUNERAL CARE LIVESTREAM.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday morning, September 21, 2024 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Saint David Catholic Church, 3900 S. University Drive, Davie, Florida 33328.
After church a family and friends gathering will be at the home of LuAnn and Walter Samuelson.
