ARNOLD PREMER
August 9, 1929 – July 31, 2023

Arnold (Arnie) was born in Brooklyn, New York. He married the “love of his life” Marlene Juliet celebrating 67 wonderful years before her passing in 2020.

In 1955, they moved to Miami Beach and then North Miami Beach/ Aventura. Arnie had two successful careers. Shortly after arriving in South Florida, he joined the Cromer Company, a wholesaler of various popular brands of menswear, retiring as General Sales Manager. Later in life, Arnie rejoined the workforce as General Manager of WKAT Radio, one of Miami’s oldest broadcast facilities. He changed the station format to cater to the Haitian community, becoming the dominant source of information for
its residents. “Mr. Arnie” was beloved in the community, participating in events ranging from weddings and other celebrations to handing out Christmas toys in the heart of “Little Haiti” to hundreds of neighborhood children.

He is survived by his son Howard Premer (Ilene), daughter Randi Garlitz (Dr. Jay Garlitz), grandchildren, Dustin Garlitz, Janine Garlitz-Arno (Michael Arno), Blake Premer, Dr. Courtney Premer-Barragan (Jorge Barragan), great grandchildren Maxwell and Sophia Arno, and Sienna Barragan.

Private interment will take place at Mount Sinai Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care, University Drive Chapel.

A celebration of Mr. Arnie’s life will take place on Tuesday, August 8th, 2023, at 7:00 PM, hosted by son-in-law, Jay Garlitz via Zoom, Arnold Premer’s Celebration of Life,
