Audrey M. Ragnaught

August 12, 1941~September 29, 2022

Our Beloved Audrey Maria Ragnaught, entered this life on August 12th, 1941, in Spanish Town, St. Catherine, Jamaica, West Indies, to parents Paul Ragnatt and Pearl Maria Johnson-Smith.

At a very young age, her mother migrated to the United States on a mission to prepare a new life for herself and young Audrey. Audrey remained in Jamaica with her maternal Grandmother, Violet Beatrice Scott, alongside her cousins Paul and Norma McFarlane. The three were inseparable.

Audrey had her first son, Paul and subsequently migrated to the United States to be reunited with her mother in Brooklyn, New York, leaving her young son under the care of her Father Paul and Stepmother Joyce. Her young son Paul would later join her in the U.S. Audrey gave birth to her last child Gordon, in Brooklyn, NY. Audrey adored her sons. She was a dedicated, nurturing and providing mother. Education was the main priority for her children, sparing no expense, time, or opportunity in effort of them attaining it. Her wish was for them to thrive in the areas of their interest and talents.

Audrey was affectionately known as Auntie or Sis, a direct reflection to the family-oriented woman she was. The door to her home was always opened to any family member or friend – especially if they needed a helping hand, or simply to share good conversations and laugh over tea and her famous ambrosia.

She was structured, organized, and detailed. Her posture, soft tone of voice and grace commanded attention in every room that she entered. Audrey was a poised woman who exuded class and elegance. She was known for her stunning beauty, signature scents, and fashion sense. Auntie would say, “Beauty fades, my baby”, which spoke to her humility. Never being consumed with looks or vanity, but with the contents of her heart.

Audrey had a love for healthcare. She began her career as a Certified Ultrasound Technician at Brooklyn Diagnostic Center. Her last position was as a Radiologic Technologist at Brookdale University Hospital Center prior to retirement.

In 1991 Audrey relocated from Brooklyn, NY to Pembroke Pines, FL. Audrey was a woman of dignity and strong faith. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior in 1991 at Cooper City Church of God under the leadership of her beloved Reverend Dwight & Mrs. Bonnie Allen. She was the prayer warrior of her family, never hesitating to anoint our heads with oil and intercede when needed. She was also active and diligent in serving various church ministries, but one of her most beloved was feeding and providing for vulnerable community members.

During the early morning of September 29th, 2022, Audrey transitioned into eternal life, the place her Lord & Savior has prepared for her. We have no doubt that she is in the arms of the Lord, as Isaiah 57:2 reminds us, “those who walk uprightly enter into peace as they lie in death”, and Revelations 14:13 assures us that, “blessed are those who die in the Lord”. Though her body is at rest and free from all pain, her spirit was commanded into the hands of the Lord, leaving death with no sting or victory. Audrey is merely absent on earth, but is surely present with the Lord, and forever in our hearts.

Our beloved Audrey is now reunited with her parents Pearl & Paul, and stepmother Joyce, cousins Beverly Edwards, Jayme McFarlane and many more relatives that have predeceased her. She leaves in love and light her sons; Dr. Paul (Samantha) Isaacs & Gordon Sookrae. Grandchildren; Monique & Steven Isaacs, Gabriella Sookrae & Giovanna Roach. Brothers; Wayne (Althea) Davis and Dr. Paul Alexander. Sister; Algreta (Gardel) Prudent. Nieces; Kai, Nia & Diandra. Best Friend; Merle Brown. Beloved church sisters (who were her caregivers during the last twelve years of her life), Sonia Anderson and Christiana Lewis, and a host of relatives and dear friends.

Audrey was a devout Christian, dedicated mother, loving grandmother, beloved daughter, caring sister, admirable aunt, and genuine friend. Though her smile, radiant beauty, singing, and wisdom is missed, her memory will be cherished forevermore.

Please join us celebrating her life at the below dates and times.

In memory of Audrey’s dedication and passion in serving her community, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations are made to The Outreach Ministry of Faith Place Church.  The church organizes and distributes care packages to homeless persons in and around Miramar & Pembroke Pines.

My Beloved Sister!!!
May the Lord continue to bless you on such a momentous occasion.

Happy Birthday!!!
Recently in perusing a conversation I was asked about a burn on my body. I responded most of us recognise the power of music. Sometimes a particular piece of music is exactly what we need at a given moment to express our emotions, to beckon [call up] good memories, to help haul us up out of difficulties/depression or to find just the perfect way to tell God how much we honour, love and adore Him. Sometimes a song can help us in a way that a sermon or some well meaning or good advice from a friend cannot. When we put the words and music together, something powerful happens. The joy of the Lord is your strength resonates with such serenity and peace the scar are noticeably but no longer indelible in my mind. Because of the pronounced joy and peace we’ve shared.
God Bless
John xxx🙏👍🏾⚓️❤️

Paul & Samantha and family, Gordon. Gregory & Wayne who are brothers of Audrey.

From the Edwards family who are present and past via Toronto, Canada. Who were from 59 King Street, Spanish Town, Jamaica of West Indies.

Our encouragement to you all is to go forward. This is based on our reference point as the Scott family. In the beginning God, Genesis 1 verse 1.

We have proven this God to be sovereign, so therefore we say how excellent is the name of the lord in all the earth. Psalms 8 verse 1.

Now we have conceptualize Jesus Christ in our lives. Being born again not of corruptible seed but in incorruptible seed which is the word of God. 1st Peter 1 verse 23.

God bless.
