Betty Jean Connelly Pearson age 83 of Palm Springs North, Florida, passed away September 13, 2022. She was born on December 31, 1938, to the late John and Mary Connelly in Salemville, Pennsylvania.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dr. Wright L Pearson Jr. and her brothers: John Augustus Connelly, Jr. and Donald Dwayne Connelly.
Betty is survived by her two sons: Dr. Wright L. “Lee” Pearson III and his wife, Petagaye and their daughters: Audra Jeanne-Marie Pearson and Bethany Anne-Elise Pearson and Jerome E. “Jerry” Pearson and his children; Vanessa Nicole Pearson, Nathaniel Alexander Pearson, Jonathan Sebastian Pearson and Daniela Elizabeth Pearson; brother James Davis Connelly and sister, Mary Lou Ebersole.
Betty Pearson grew up in rural Pennsylvania, a beautiful iconic part of the United States, where she attended schools, whose populations numbered in the tens not thousands. She left Salemville to attend Tennessee Temple University Chattanooga graduating with a degree in History. She was known for her internal and external beauty and extraordinary voice that was publicly acknowledged when she was crowned, Ms. Tennessee Temple (A Christian institution). Moving to Miami to accept a teaching position, while attending the University of Miami, she met Wright Jr. Two sons later, she proved to be a devoted mother and housewife. Wright Jr.‘s education and career path took the family from Miami-Dade, FL to Chicago, IL to Kernersville, NC and back to Miami-Dade. Sadly, illness beset her husband and Betty found employment at Calvary Church to then work at Eastern Financial Credit Union, rising to supervisor/manager of the retirement services, receiving multiple awards including employee of the year. Throughout her years she served Christ in many capacities. Betty lived a rich, full life. Always willing to give without asking anything in return, she was kind and patient, rarely given to a harsh word or criticism. She was much loved and will be greatly missed.

Lee and Jerry,
We’re so sorry to hear this news. Mom and I have since been recounting the many fun times our families shared together over the years. We loved having you all join us for Thanksgiving and Christmas meals. It’s been years since those days but we cherish the memories. Yesterday, mom ran into an angel that your mom gave her – so special. I’ll make sure Tommy knows as he’s not on FB. We only heard through that means. Your mom was one of a kind – extremely special to all of us, always cheerful, kind and loving.
Please send me your mailing address through FB messenger if you don’t mind. We’re still in Virginia (mom lives with us; dad passed away last year). We’re praying for you all!
Love and prayers –
