Johns, Bruce M., 73, of Hollywood passed away July 3, 2005. He is a graduate of Ohio State University and served in the US Marines and worked for TV Guide Magazine. Bruce is survived by his wife Jane, three children; Beth Helms, Gregg Johns, and Robert Johns, five grandchildren; Justin, Bonnie, Anamarie, Mitchell and Ali. Since retired from business he has been enriching the lives of adults and children as a tutor with the Broward County Literacy program and School Board of Broward County. He was an active member of Hollywood Hills United Methodist Church since moving to Hollywood in 1969, serving as Sunday school teacher, bible study leader and lay speaker. A memorial Service will be held at Hollywood Hills United Methodist Church, 400 North 35th Avenue, Hollywood at 2:00 PM Friday July 8. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Memorial Fund at Hollywood Hills United Methodist Church in Hollywood. Boyd’s Family Funeral Homes

my sympathy goes out to bruce’s family. he will surely be missed by those who loved him and liked him. i will surely miss him in sunday school. i learned alot from him in the short time i was in his class. may his soul rest in peace.

Dearest Beth & family,
I am so sorry about your father’s passing. He was a wonderful man & so loving to the children at Pines Lakes. We will miss him greatly. I am so pleased that I was able to see him & visit at the graduation party. Our thoughts & prayers are with all of you.

I used to work for a Bud Johns, The AP bureau chief in Columbus, Ohio, where Bruce Johns went to Ohio State University and later into journalism at TV Guide. Is there a family relationship between the two?
