MEJIA, Carlos A., 89, who resided in Pembroke Pines, Florida for a decade, passed away on August 26, 2023. Carlos was born on August 14, 1934, in Callao, Peru to Tomas Mejia Carcelen and Maria Solis, both of whom have preceded him in death. Carlos was also predeceased by his cherished wife of 59 years, Teresa, whose memory remained etched in his heart since her departure in 2014. It was at their very first encounter that Carlos knew Teresa was the one he would spend a lifetime with, and it brings us solace to envision their reunion once more.

An ardent sports enthusiast, Carlos was an active member of his High School Swim team during his youth. His sports of choice were soccer, which held a special place in his heart, along with basketball and tennis. He also cherished the many moments spent with his family, particularly during gatherings, where he took joy in the company of his grandchildren.

Left to cherish his memory are his surviving children: son Carlos Felipe Mejia; son Domingo Mejia and his wife Maria Elena Contreras; daughter Rosario Mejia Nunez and her husband Lionel Nunez; son Patricio Carlos Mejia and his wife Dolly Giraldo; and son Martin Eduardo Mejia and his wife Beatriz Mejia. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Frank, Stephanie, Melanie, Vanessa, and Bianca.

A Memorial Gathering has been scheduled for Thursday, August 31st, 2023, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Tributes of a Lifetime and Prayer Service will commence at 7:00 pm. The event will take place at Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care, University Drive Chapel.
