C.E. “Chuck” Wilcoxen passed away at home on January 28, 2025 at the age of 93.
Chuck was born on May 15, 1931 in Belpre, Ohio, to Benjamin and Maud Wilcoxen, and lived there until enlisting in the United States Air Force in September of 1949. He served in the Military Air Transport Command and was stationed in Montana, Greenland, Newfoundland, and Westover Air Force Base in Massachusetts. During his service, he also attended University of Great Falls, and was discharged as a Staff Sergeant. Upon discharge, he began his long career at Eastern Airlines in 1952 at Bradley Field in Windsor Locks, CT.
While stationed at Westover, he met Judith M. Fenton, of Longmeadow, MA. They were married on November 28, 1952. They were happily married until Judith’s passing in 2000. They had two children, Robin Lynn Jacobsen and Charles (also “Chuck” Wilcoxen, Jr.
Chuck and Judith loved the ocean and decided to relocate to Daytona Beach in 1956. Still with Eastern Air Lines, Chuck moved into sales in 1958.  He rose rapidly and relocated frequently, moving with the young family to Cincinnati, Chicago, Cleveland, Washington D.C., Miami, and finally the corporate headquarters at 10 Rockefeller Center in New York City where he was named Director of Passenger Sales in 1972.
Chuck took early retirement from Eastern in 1986 and joined Thomas Cook Travel in New York as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. In 1990 he semi-retired and worked in the travel industry as a placement advisor, helping many men and women find corporate suite positions all over the world.
After Judith’s passing in 2000, Chuck was blessed to find another partner, and married Martha Clement in 2004. Martha was an avid golfer also, and they met on the course. He loved Martha very much, and they happily resided in both Hallandale Beach in the winter and Bennington, VT in the summer. Chuck loved Martha’s family as well, finding great joy in his time here in South Florida with Martha’s kids and grandchildren.
In addition to being a great competitor on the golf course, Chuck enjoyed walking the beach, traveling the world, reading, but most of all he enjoyed his family… always ending each phone call with “I love you more.”
Chuck is survived by his wife Martha, daughter Robin and her children Peter, Laurel, and Neil, Chuck Jr. and his wife Hilary and their sons Matts and Chaz, step-daughter Laura Pittman and her husband Matt and their children Elizabeth and Jesse, step-son Ken Clement, and great-grandchildren Ada and Jacob (Laurel and her husband Daniel), and Gus and Bridget (Neil and his wife Katie.)
