Obituary for Coleman Chisem Jr.

 

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Coleman Chisem Jr., beloved husband, father, and friend, who went home to be with the Lord on January 30, 2025, at the age of 64. Born on September 6, 1960, Coleman Chisem Jr. touched the lives of countless people through his unwavering faith, boundless love, and kind spirit.

 

As a devoted husband to Gloria Reaves Chisem, Coleman Chisem Jr. was a rock of love, strength, and support. Together, they shared a marriage built on faith, respect, and deep affection that lasted 40 years. Their love story was one of patience, laughter, and a commitment to always walk side by side, even in the hardest of times.

 

To his children, TaCarra, Tiffany, Brian and Coleman III, Coleman Chisem Jr.  was a father whose love knew no bounds. He was a constant source of wisdom, encouragement, and joy, always striving to teach his children the importance of kindness, integrity, and a life led by Christ. His heart was generous, and he instilled in them the same values of faith, love, and service to others that he lived by every day.

 

A man of deep Christian faith, Coleman Chisem Jr. was a dedicated member of New Life Baptist Church of Carol City, where he not only worshipped but also gave of his time and talents to serve others. His faith was his foundation, and he found strength in the promises of Christ, sharing that hope with those around him. His passion for spreading the love of Jesus was evident in all his relationships, and he leaves behind a legacy of faith that will continue to inspire and guide those who knew him.

 

Coleman Chisem Jr. had a love for singing that was truly special. Whether it was in church, around the house, or with friends and family, he would often lift his voice in praise, filling the air with beautiful melodies. His love for music reflected his joy for life, and his songs will echo in the hearts of all who had the privilege of hearing them.

 

He was a friend to many—loyal, compassionate, and always ready to lend an ear or a helping hand. His laughter was contagious, and his presence a comfort to all who were fortunate enough to know him.  Coleman Chisem Jr. leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering faith, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Coleman Chisem Jr. was a widower (Gloria Reaves Chisem-predeceased 2020) and leaves behind his children, TaCarra Chisem-Easley ( James Easley -spouse), Tiffany Chisem, Brian Chisem (Keishaunda Chisem- Spouse) and Coleman Chisem III (Charline Chisem- Spouse); his grandchildren, A’Nyah, Kamani, Damani, Jaylen, Jordan, Malcolm, Malachi, Mason, Graison, Tristan, Marlee, and Jaxon,; his siblings, Cynthia Sherrod, Bernard Chisem, Regina Trotter, Michael Reaves, Eugee Reaves, Lordais Orr; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Each of them will carry forward the love, wisdom, and faith that he so freely shared.

 

Though our hearts are heavy with his loss, we find peace knowing that Coleman Chisem Jr. is now in the presence of his Savior, singing with joy in the heavenly choir.

 

A Celebration of his life will be held at New Life Baptist Church of Carol City at 5005 NW 173rd Drive, Miami Gardens, Florida on Saturday, February 8th, 2025  at 10:00 AM.
