David Vervaet, 67, of Hollywood, Florida, passed away on March 27, 2023, at North-Lake Retirement Home, after battling a series of health issues over recent years.
Davey, as he was known to family and friends, was born in Trenton, New Jersey on May 11, 1955, and lived much of his life in northern New Jersey, before moving to the warmer weather. Davey persisted through numerous challenges in life, yet always kept a positive disposition, and was thoughtful and compassionate to others. Davey enjoyed the simple things in life, including a cold beer and his daily lottery games. He will be remembered more recently for his hand drawn cartoons chronicling daily life in the retirement home, which brought us to tears of laughter.
Davey leaves behind two sons, David Vervaet Jr. and Ryan Vervaet. He is predeceased by his mother, Dorothy Michelli (nee Lynch) and father, Joseph Vervaet. Additionally, he leaves his two sisters, Lorraine Pitek and Jo-Anne Geer, who will always cherish their time and conversations with him over the past several years.
David’s ashes will be interned by his mother’s side at Holly Memorial Gardens in Charlottesville, Virginia, and his family and friends will remember him fondly.
